The other option is quit shooting so many bucks, you know that, right? Most of us interested in this thread knows that, but a lot of surrounding warriors don’t.

Sometimes when I'm doing something I thought was a good idea, it turns out to be a major hassle. Further thought while in the midst of it always lands upon whatever it was having been a stupid idea to begin with. The trouble with trophy management is it's a stupid idea people just won't give up on.
It’s not stupid where it works. It’s stupid to keep trying it where it’s impossible.

If your herd is not overpopulated, I would want as many bucks born on the property as possible and let as many grow to maturity as possible. .
Irrespective of population, this isn’t true most of the time at the individual property level. Yearling buck dispersal studies would say that I’m exporting early born buck fawns from soybean fed healthy does on my property and importing poorer buck fawns from pine needle fed skinny does from the industrial timber company lease 8 miles away. I wish it was as you state believe me.

27 deer in a 4acre field. How many needs to have horns? The same number that have balls.
The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.

The other option is quit shooting so many bucks, you know that, right? This is like telling a guy that his wife is fat. He knows it, just doesn’t want to admit it out loud.

Why would you assume we kill “so many”? It's not an assumption , if mother nature produces them 50/50, and you have way more does than bucks, well you seem like a smart feller......some people think that because the limit is three, that's how many their supposed to kill

A lot of people don't understand that when you shoot one doe, you are taking between 16-64 deer off your property 5 years down the road. Thats why you have these people with " doe problems" that shoot ten does. Next year is fine your only 10 deer short, but if you look at what that doe PLUS what her offspring would produce it's alot. That story goes like this, I have too many does I'm gonna thin em out this year next year that worked does are good, three years after that this place sux, used to have a bunch of deer now I don't see any, haven't shot a doe in two years, must be the neighbors piling them up! But hey it's good management, now you have the same buck to doe ratio 0-0

I'm going to make this real simple for some of y'all that demand to make this hard:
If you have "Too Many Does" someone killed the bucks. You can't have 25 does and 1 buck unless someone KILLED THE BUCKS.
It simply does NOT work in any other way.
A 1:1 Ratio is not realistic. That's never happening.
Again... if you aren't seeing bucks there are 3 reasons and ONLY 3:
1) You suck at hunting.
2) You killed all the young bucks
3) Your neighbors killed all the young bucks.
Next Question,
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
