From 3 miles away on a grainy camera it's obvious what happened. A conspiracy!! Let us don our foil hats and speculate.....

Someone big is on that plane that went down! Since when do "big" people fly on regional jets? More suggestive but likely, they were steered together. But I have sat next to powerful Regional politicians on jumper to Atlanta planes..who knows how many times. Only reason I knew they were somewhat special is cause we both liked something farm-ish that cost big money.

It appears that air traffic controllers asked the plane to land at another runway and they confirmed they could. The ATC saw the chopper headed toward the plane and asked if he could see it and got no response. Immediately before impact they asked chopper to let plane pass in front of them and fly behind the plane after it passed them. I get the impression this was just an unfortunate accident. Pilot error and communication breakdown are most likely the culprit.

either chopper pilot or ATC error. the video 4tigers posted is excellent. the plane did exactly as instructed.

Just reported on FoxNews that ATC asked the helicopter TWICE in the last 30 seconds if they had the plane in view.
Could we have a rogue or incompetent military pilot?

What Fox experts were saying is planes have the ROW and priority . The helo should have yielded to the plane. But they wouldn't have even been close had the ATC not had him make a last minute runway change. Sounds like a series of unfortunate cause and effects

Why's a blackhawk at an international airport when there are 5 military bases all within 50 miles of the DC international airport

I just saw a eye witness who saw it. He said he saw the plane already low and in a tight turn . He said it didn't look right and thought it looked unusual and thought it may crash. Then a few seconds later there was an in air explosion. The ATC set the wheels in motion by having the plane change approach so late. Perhaps the helo was looking at a different plane or planes and this one "came out of nowhere."

Was a training mission out of Ft Belvior, VA. Why not land at JB Anacostia? Something dont add up

It sounds to me like they've over-cluttered the Arlington air space, post 911. The effort to enhance air and ground security has made navigation unnecessarily cumbersome.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

honestly, I don't think there's any conspiracy here, I think it was just a culmination of several bad things all at once and sometimes, accidents just happen. The plan was reportedly on a normal approach path (although apparently diverted to a different runway, which isn't uncommon). The blackhawk was travelling through what is reported to be a perfectly normal/common flight path along the river for them. From what I've read, the helo's are expected to give way to plane traffic in that area, which makes sense since they're much more maneuverable. The ATC asked a couple of times if they "saw" the jet.....instead, the ATC should have just instructed them what to do instead of asking them and hoping they reacted accordingly. There's also a chance the blackhawk pilot had a visual of the wrong plane and just missed it.
Accidents happen...unfortunately in cases like this, accidents usually = a lot of folks dying. I seriously doubt it was anything nefarious, just a terrible situation caused by several factors happening all at once.

Somewhat agree...just wondering why the blackhawk pilot never responded to ATC after being prompted twice. Not saying intentional...just saying it's odd.
