Man I'm struggling to get myself fired up for turkey season....I lost access to the main property I've hunted the last couple of years, but no real loss because I never saw or heard a single bird on it all last season after having several on it in 2023. Another place I hunt, about 20 min from home, has always been hit-or-miss at best, and last year it was a freaking ghost town. I literally couldn't even find a track in the dirt, much less an actual bird. Public is always an option, but it's an hour away, tough terrain and more crowded than ever the last couple of years....I've seen/heard more people than birds, and that's even when getting WAY off the beaten path.

Woe is me, bah-humbug, and whatnot....

Hey, you could just take up spring crappie fishing instead.

The crappie and bass both are gonna be in trouble this spring....I'm still planning to try to scare a bird or two, if I can find one.

There are plenty of birds on that piece of public an hour from you. My advice is to forget everything you know and approach it fresh starting now, not opening day
