How many of ya'll have heard a buck roar? I've been deer hunting 35 years and heard one do it for the first time a week or so ago. I actually heard it one evening right at dark and then a couple days later right at dark from the same stand, but in opposite directions. The first time he did it, one blew about 30 seconds later. It was pretty cool to hear and very loud, I never did see the buck.

I've heard it twice, once in Marengo county and once in Dekalb. Really loud.

Heard it one time in Tuscaloosa County. I had no idea what it was at the time and figured whatever it was I was going to have to shoot it, LOL. A doe came running by me with her tongue hanging out bit buck never came by. I’m assuming he was running multiple does and she got away from the rest

Several times. First time I didn't see the buck right off, couldn't figure out what made the sound.

Heard it twice - seen it once (he came out after using a Doe-in-Heat can - killed him shortly after)

Heard it several times. I remember when Primos came out with their “new” buck sound. I had been hearing bucks make that sound for awhile. Lol

A long deeper grunt with a change in tone at the end, I would say around 3-5 or so seconds of sound. At least that is what I've heard. It's not like a normal short grunt.

Got one doing it right now. Long grunt, higher pitch at the end and a little nasally at the end.

It be's that way sometimes.

I've heard it one time. I was sitting on the edge of a field as it was just getting daylight. A good buck was following a doe across the field toward me. I think he suddenly realized he was in the wide open and it was getting daylight. He stopped and she kept walking toward me. He grunted loudly at her and she kept walking. He gunted louder and she kept walking. He grunted louder, like he was hollering at her. Then he turned around tail tucked and bounced all the way across the field and disappeared into the woods on the far side of the field.

Buck roar only once or twice. I’ve heard that clicking sound while grunting and chasing a doe a handful of times.

I’ve heard it twice. The first one that did it cleared the field when he stepped out and he was so close it made the hair on my neck stand up and gave me chills. Whenever they do it they mean business

I've heard them do it a few times hear at the house. These have to be the most vocal deer I've ever hunted
