I almost threw my spypoint into the river. Had to turn it off and back on after about a week. I have 4 tactacams and love them. I'm about to get a new solar panel for each.

We are talking about using them for recreational purposes and research. Not hunting.

I don't run them myself, but I have to chip in on some for club use. They use Muddy. Seems like 1/4 of them go bad quick. The ones that don't go bad quickly continue to operate, after a fashion, indefinitely. 1/4 of the ones they operate seem to actually take pics when it should.

So, Muddy probably isn't very good.

I’ve tried them all with the exception of Reconyx and I like the new Wise Eye cameras that have multi carrier capability. I’m yet to find a spot that I don’t have service. I had to use external antennas on my Spartans in these same areas, that’s why I got rid of them. I run external lithium 15ah batteries and they last 4-5 months of taking videos. The only downside of the red glow Wise eyes (I run no glow cameras now)are they seem to really spook some deer. Most deer do not mind it at all and they will light up an entire food plot. Like has been said, their customer service is top notch too.

I’ve got some of their non-cellular cams. Hard to beat for the money. As for cell cams, I’ve had excellent service out of my Spartans.

Tactacam- expensive, eats batteries but best overall.
Bushnell-cheap, batteries last forever, okay pictures.
Browning- I really like the browning. Takes decent pictures, good trigger speed, good motion detection range. I think the reason I don’t have more than one is because adding another one would require me to bump both cameras to a higher priced plan (I’m doing the cheapest one at the moment that I believe is 9.99 a month for 1500 pics)

Wise eye. These are what I'm replacing all of my tactacrap cameras with. The wise eye has way better picture quality, much better signal and it actually takes pictures/videos when something is in front of it.

i've run 6 moultrie edges for 2 years. only issue is the cloud every now and then will delay. battery options are good...16AAs, a rechargeable lithium pack, or external. been running 12volt externals the entire season and changed only one that was in a weak signal spot. i like the fact they will alternate to the best cell signal.

I run Moultrie edges. Haven’t had any issues out of a single one.

I've got one about once a week I have to kill the power to it and let it reset or it won't send pictures

How does the cellular plan work? I want 1 for only the Months of September-January. Does the picture count re-set if you clear or is it a running total?
I have never owned one but all the guys I hunt with do and they are now killing and Im not.

Tactacams customer service if needed is unmatched. I'm running 10 tactacams in various models gen 1, x, x2.0, xb, sk models fixing to trade in the gen 1 ones I have left for some new x3.0 pro models. They have a trade in program. I'm running solar panels on all except the 2 gen1 models. Battery life on a travel route is usually 3 months with out a solar panel and high level flash settings, high mp settings, no delay, check in pictures on, moderate to high sensitivity settings and on picture and video. With a solar panel I can nearly get a year on a set of batteries.. if they're watching a feeder and it's very active all night it'll drian the internal battery on the solar panel down and use the batteries in the camera and will get around 4 months on a set of batteries on a camera with the same settings mentioned. The new version solar panels and lipo battery packs are able to be charged by the new version solar panels while also charging the internal battery on the solar panels. They draw back is the sd cards they are picky but as long as you use the ones they recommend or their branded ones it won't be an issue
