Is 1,320’ x 1,320’
440 yards x 440 yards
1/4 mile x 1/4 mile

In the center you will be 220 yards in each cardinal direction to each respective property line.

The average person walks 1.5 to 2 miles per day.

Most folks have 2 legs. Most deer have 4 legs.

The SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 is 40 acres more or less depending on any ROW and where the pins are set.

Which one is heavier, a pound of rocks or a pound of feathers?

Can someone explain the rule against perpetuities?

$20 is $20. Water is wet. Corn is corn.

A square 40 acres that measures1320 feet on all sides also does not exist. They are right up there with a unicorn.

I could afford a square forty acres by catching and selling square groupers.

Is it already high fenced, or do you plan on having the folks running from ice do it for you?

Actually….i own a surveyed, and perfectly squared, 40 acres. The 1320’ lines are correct that he posted but I’ve never checked the 220 yd centering but I will. I’m sure it’s right too.

Even though there’s some crazy posts going on there, there was a little useful info in that OP. 😂

You should buy a lottery ticket then. I have been Surveying for 37 years and have never seen one.

Let me clarify, I bought (2) 20 acre parcels that were together. They were surveyed into rectangle parcels. The (2) together make (1) square 40 acres for me, technically they’re (2) parcels, but for me it’s a square 40.

I’m not sure if y’all are speaking in literal terms like down to the exact 1/2 foot or what but that’s how my property lays out.

I was assuming the OP was referring to an exact 1320 foot square with exact 90 degree corners. Those don't exist that I have ever found.

👍 Gotcha
If we went by strictly property lines, mine would have that. But like I said its (2) parcels together.

If you are working with 1/4 of 1/4 of a section and it were perfectly square the section would have to be perfectly square also. If you have a perfectly square 1/4 of 1/4 and the section isn't , someone did some creative surveying. GE please correct me if I'm incorrect .

This is my property lines. Like I said, at the sale it was (2) rectangle 20 acres parcels. The land to the south of Taylor rd is mine. To the north of it is the same. Different property owners.
