Rate your deer season this year……how was it?? I’m giving mine a D+……It started out slow and ended slow…..Never got anything on camera better than one dink three year old and it was the worst season I’ve had in 11 years of tracking deer……The only silver lining really was that we did find a couple really nice ones…..Maybe things will improve next year.

I will give mine a C-. I saw deer almost everytime I went, but mostly the same 3 deer, a doe and twins. I did find a couple places with really great sign this past weekend, so maybe I can get on a good buck next year with the better Intel. We had a couple good bucks use the property, but they always were there in daylight when we were not able to hunt.

I’d give mine an A. Killed 2 8 pts and two does. Passed more small bucks this year than any other. Only had a couple hunts where I didn’t see any deer.

Rate it a C-….saw deer just about every hunt and had fun…missed 4 mature bucks this year though. 3 of the shots were 250yds plus and the other was not with my gun. Frustrating to say the least.

I guess it depends on which place. For the property I own, d-. too many does killed on surrounding properties. Not much left, but did kill manage to kill an 8 pt that scored 138 off of it that wandered over there during the rut. The property I lease a+. Hard to open the truck door for all the deer in the way. 140" 14 point killed and several more nice bucks. Hunting club where I run dogs. b+. Able to jump and run a deer 80% of the times I turned loose.

Went back to 100% public land hunting and killed two bucks. I hunted two new pieces of public ground so that was fun. My oldest daughter killed her first deer so that was awesome.
Deer sightings were about average for me.

B- Had a lot of bucks early and they seemed to disappear by early Dec. We had a lot of smaller bucks that I would see every sit which kept things interesting. Took a little time off around MLK day as traditionally that's when our rut heats up. Got up the morning of MLK day and got a pic of a good 7 point that I had never seen before. Wound up killing him the next morning in some nearby hardwoods making a scrape. I thought a few more bigger ones might show up with all the ladies we got around but rut activity was pretty much non existent the rest of the time I was off. I can't complain because I got to take a pretty good one and saw a lot of up and comers for next season. Overall I had a really good time. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/L8wngzmC/IMG-6189.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/fyq0H1hZ/IMG-6167.jpg)

A+ for me. I had my chances at some gooduns but was able to pull an auburn and screw it up. I did get a goodun out of State. Hunted with good folks on public land. Enjoyed every second of it. Still gonna give em hell after I get this sheet of riving knives cut out.

Best season ever. Killed a pile of deer(if I told how many CNC would have me tarred and feathered) and 2 mature bucks. Seen deer 45 out of 53 hunts. Let several nice 3.5 year olds go for next year. Lost count of the 2.5 year old bucks I seen. My 7 year old got her first deer. Only downside is I got hung up hunting 1 deer and didn’t even hunt two of my properties.
Hoping to get another doe or two by Monday.

One of my best ever, got to kill a nice 10 pt with my bow in Illinois on my annual hunt with my son. Killed another nice 10 pt here in Alabama with my rifle. Had seen him twice before and finally got a shot at him. Had plenty of cold weather got to go more than I normally do.

It was good of BC to rate his season at a B, I give my season a D-. Spent two weeks at Christmas at daughters in Utah and lost the mid two weeks of January because I agree to take the wife unit on a cruise with her elderly sister and BIL, because at 90 his ability to do stuff is going fast. It hurt, but I figured what the heck I can go balls to the wall last 2 1/2 weeks. Until I blew out a knee and my back on the cruise. That, and as BC said all the shooters on the place just disappeared. I have kept camera records for the last 3 years of bucks that interest me. Three years ago I had 231, last year 176 and this year a grand total of 49. Not a great trend and I am baffled. No habitat or pressure changes and low hunting pressure in about a 1,000 acres around me. Hope for better times next year.
