My experience is that illuminated reticle don't help. I have a few scopes with them and have never used the illumination when shooting at deer at last light. Too much flare to see the target. If it's too dark to see the reticle to shoot you're already past legal shooting time.

You ever looked through a Leupold on the lowest setting? I get 0 flare on the lowest 2-3 settings at dark .

The Leupold has the least amount of flare of any i own but I still prefer to leave the illuminated dot off When I was hunting last weekend on a large field I was looking at several deer at last light. I was looking at deer 450 yds and further and it was easier to see the deer without illumination. Scope is a VX6 3-18X50.

If you can find a Burris euro diamond they are heavy but are mighty fine.

I killed three this year using the illuminated reticle with zero flare. Vortex Razor G3 and a Athlon Cronus
You're only as good as your worst shot-

Great scopes! I was just curious if there were any quality scopes for less money? IMO there are definitely quality scopes available for less money, but none of them will have anything comparable to the firedot reticle.
