The timber company came in to my lease a strip cut the last month of deer season....destroyed my food plots. Is there anything that I can plant that would provide some fast green up to salvage turkey season? I want the bird to start using the property again. Thoughts?

They’ll use it regardless if it has quality spring time/nesting habitat. May push them out for a little bit but they will be back. As far as the food plot goes, as soon as green up starts and the grasses grow up, that’s all you really need.

Buy a bag of wildflower seeds and strow them along the sunny spots on roads and field edges as well.

Salvage turkey season? With a timber harvest so fresh you can still smell the dirt when it rains. That’s better than a food plot. Send them a thank you letter.

Bare ground in a few spots is good. They need to dust their feathers.
