[quote=goodman_hunter]Yall hired "cheap" immigrants, starved american business owners out and now complain there's no one who wants to work. You should move your company to mexico, you can hire all the wonderfull hardworking mexicans you want. Your reading comprehension score is very low Goodman. It's obvious that you know nothing whatsoever about the construction industry but I mistakenly assumed you could at least read. ]Quote You think you know more than me about the construction industry? You think you're knowledgeable because you worked on a job site or 2 while your parents put you through college and paid for all your stuff and now you sit in some office making phone calls and answering emails with your little tasseled leather shoes on. I was born into this chit, raised in it and grinded it out for many years. You couldn't of outworked me on your best day. Parents use to send boys like you to work with me for the week, just to break them when they was goofing off in college. Why is italways the softest dudes talking about how chitty American work ethic is? Cause the view is kinda different when you ain't sitting in that clean office all day. Just more speaking out of your ass like you normally do. You've said before on here that you work for a govt contractor in the defense industry. You work in an assembly factory if I remember correctly. Air conditioned and spotlessly clean, I'm sure. You probably come home clean as a whistle everyday. You work your 40 hrs and collect your paycheck from someone like me, and then go home without a care or worry in the world. I probably put in as many hours in 3 days as you do in an entire week. I'm actually getting ready to leave the office and drive 30 minutes to a jobsite with my partner to go drive in 400 ft of silt fence and throw down a trailer load of hay bales for erosion control, for the upcoming 3" of rain they are predicting. Why, because it's got to get done and we cant find enough decent employees to have someone do it for us. Everyone we've got is on other jobs but this still has to be done tonight so my partner and I will just go do it ourselves like usual. While you're sitting at home this Saturday, we'll be assembling and hanging RTA's this weekend because nobody wants to work on the weekend and it has to be done by Monday morning to keep on schedule for the CT install. If you know so much about it, worked so hard and were so good at it, why dont you own a construction company and why arent you still in the business? Cream normally rises to the top and the best of the best become the bosses or start their own business. I guess you are the exception to the rule. Hate to ruin the picture you have painted in your mind, but I paid my own way and went to college on scholarship. My first job was stocking shelves at a local grocery store down the road when I was 13. Rode my bike to work because both parents worked and nobody was available to drive me. Started working construction when I was 16 once I could drive. Was running a crew at 19, and did it every summer until I graduated college. I've never not had a job. Most of the time I did sidework in addition to my normal job. I've been inside, outside, at a desk, in the field. I can and do, do it all from handling books, bidding jobs, running the office, to swinging the hammer and running squares up the ladder. Really successful people are willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. Enjoy your dinner tonight while I'm covered in mud and swinging a maul in the truck lights and rain. Got in at 6:00 and will get home tonight around 9:00. That's 15 hr day for someone like you that has trouble with basic math.
