Maybe these YouTubers are cheating in some way I’m not privy to but most of their videos end with kills. If they destroyed these areas how do they continue to kill them at these pimped out areas?

They are making a living off the people’s land.
You can’t guide hunts for profit on public land, it’s illegal.
You can’t cut and sell firewood off public land, or grow and sell a corn crop. Why should these individuals be any different?

Because they are hunting on a Tuesday and don’t have to leave a gobbling bird to go to work or pick up the kids from school. These guys are hunting large tracts of public land and they have no time constraints. They live out of their truck on the side of the road and they pursue a turkey all day until they kill it. Then they just move on to the next state and rinse and repeat. What I find ironic is when they complain about running in to other people on a piece of land never owning up to the fact the other people are there because of people like them!

So yall think Cove will show up and defend himself? Tell us all about how he single handedly saved the Wild Turkey from extinction? Put it back on the map?

well, since it looks like he hasn't even logged into the site in 3.5 years, I'm guessing that's a big No laugh

You can bet your arse that he keeps up with this thread though. He is in love with himself, no doubt about that. I’ve never seen so many selfies during a turkey hunt in my life 😆

Can a YouTuber make a video about how great the campground, or hiking trails, or bird watching is on a piece of public land and make a living pimping out the best wma camp grounds because some tent company pays them money cause more people camp now? They aren’t profiting off selling dead turkeys they are profiting from making videos.

So they should not be allowed to hunt that much? Because you have other responsibilities and can’t hunt as much as those guys. If you can’t do it nobody else should be able to?

Yeah I understand that, and I’m kinda playing devils advocate, but I do believe the fizz and complaining is for selfish reasons. It makes it harder for ME to get a permit, or ME to kill a turkey at the wma that I’VE hunted the last 10 years, and it’s not fair cause they get to hunt more than ME blah blah. Now if there was some biological support that shows that the population is being depleted to a point where they are going to close turkey hunting, or turkeys are going to go extinct I can get on board with the complaining. But if a particular piece of permit/quota land issues 10 permits every year and 10 or 10 million people apply for the permit the same number of turkeys are still going to die.

No doubt hunting/fishing has become a selfish SPORT. I’ll brag on me kids more than anything, but I’m pretty tight lipped when it comes to the outdoors… I’ve been burnt by some what I thought was good friends… if I could make a living filming and killing and catching I’d probably be doing it… I see both sides

Huh? There’s already proof of limited opportunities. When you take the huge platform of YouTube, the hunting and the pimping of Chamberlain and DGT. You indirectly get season start dates pushed and lower limits. AL Public land hunters can only kill two birds on one particular piece of public land. Not very long ago, they could kill five.

I don’t even hunt AL public land anymore, but I’m limited on private land indirectly as well.

Jughead said he already has his tickets for the NWTF convention next week and will be in attendance to root Dave on at the calling championships and will be wearing his Pinhoti gear to show his support.

Delayed season on public lands. Lower limits. Non residents regs. Draws. Lost opportunity for all turkey hunters. …… yet we are the selfish ones. Not the ones that are filming on public lands and putting spots on blast. Kiss my ass with your devils advocate BS

I never said any of that. I was answering the question how they seem to always get kills on film in areas that are pimped out. They can do it because of the reasons I stated. How much they get to hunt is the DNRs job. They are the ones that set seasons and limits.

I can’t stand to even tote a decoy around much less a fan… but I do hunt on Tuesdays and mondays and Wednesday and Thursday and Friday all day long if I want to…hope that doesn’t make me a piece of 💩… I work 10 months out of the year so I can work around turkey season…

There’s plenty of guys that take their vacation time during turkey season. That’s nothing new, friends in Green Bay used to work others shifts so he could take off during the fall to chase ducks, grouse and pheasant he’d work their shifts in the spring when they were fishing. He was a fire fighter

I do too but you’re not pumping out public land for YouTube hits either..completely different point. The river dan one recently cracked me up cause dan goes “shut up Phillip” when he was doing his usual of liking to hear himself call 😂
