Florida's wildlife commission is about to vote on a proposal to PROHIBIT NON-RESIDENT TURKEY HUNTING THE FIRST NINE DAYS OF THE ZONAL SEASON on the following 5 WMAs:
Big Cypress (non-quota portion) Herky Huffman/Bull Creek Jumper Creek J.W. Corbett Three Lakes
Reckon how many total views Dave's south FL videos have?

In the beginning….. maybe a guy could claim ignorance to the damage done. But anyone who still films and posts public land hunts knowing what we know now is nothing but a jerk. And if you consume. Like. Subscribe etc you are also part of the problem. Hunt for yourself. Not for likes from strange men.

It’s time for turkey hunters to get together to ban filming for profit on public lands in as many states as possible.

I had been working a turkey since daylight a couple of years ago on Skyline all morning. It gets to be around 11 and the bird comes in and I killed him. I sat there a minute and stood up and immediately hear walking behind me and think it’s a deer. I turn around and here comes a young man down the mtn hunting with a video camera. He had heard the bird earlier and was slipping down into in position and saw me hunkered down behind a rock. He sat there for two hours filming until his batteries went dead. We talked for awhile and he was trying to start a YouTube channel. Kid was shaking like a leaf from the excitement of watching the hunt. He gave me a card to check out his channel but I lost it. Really nice young man who wanted to be like Dave.

I don’t know if it’s been said, because I’ve not ready the entire 32 pages of this, but the traveling turkey hunter has got to be a miserable way to live IMO. I know Dave and other YouTubers are wired differently than me, but I love to hear one gobble and chase them as much as the next guy. I also enjoy the other things that come with that time of year. Crawfish boils, stopping by a friend’s camphouse to drink a beer and tell lies on the season, spending time with friends and family. I can do all of those things right here from my little corner of Alabama without sleeping in my truck and filming myself rubbing my eyes and telling the YouTube world how tired I am. I hunt for my enjoyment. I’ve been on out of state trips for my enjoyment. I’m not doing it to have a measure off with guys that don’t mean a thing in the grand scheme of the world.

after i got out of college and started my business of spraying yards, i had plenty of free time. i hunted at least 6 days a week for deer and turkey season for probably 5 years straight. never thought id get tired of hunting but i 100% did. 20+ years later im too busy to go more than 1-2x a week with my kids. wouldnt trade it for the world and have zero desire to hunt that much if i had the free time. i do miss the 3-4 morning chess match with the hard headed sob’s but it makes the few kills i see each year even better than worrying about how fast i could kill a limit. hats off to him for staying motivated and producing good videos.
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers.......... Si Robertson

Some people are just wired differently. I love being alone in the wilderness. I spend so much of my life surrounded by people, I’ve really gotten to the point where I prefer going on most of these adventures by myself. There’s nothing like the peacefulness of sitting on a mountaintop, laying eyes on it for the first time as the sun rises, all by your lonesome. I used to travel with friends, but nowadays the majority of my turkey travels are alone, deer season is my social outlet.

Dave and others know what they’ve caused. They are not oblivious to the damage. Dave has even been quoted as saying “if it wasn’t me, it would be someone else.”
The issue is the careless attitude that a handful of people have had that affect the masses.

It's a job and his career now. In 2019 - my son and I ran into Dave at NWTF; Dave was in the KT Team booth. I remember taking a picture of my son with Dave but apparently didn't think enough of it to keep it during the many phone upgrades since then. We went to the convention this year for the first time since 2019. I took a picture of Dave's booth this time. We didn't see Dave or actually bother looking at any his merchandise. And I'm not sure, but I think that may be Jughead down front with the backwards bottomland cap on. There may have been some other Aldeer folks up in the crowd too, but I decided to blur their faces out since they may not want to be publicly associated with the other Pinhoti fanboys. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/W3CQGfLC/IMG-2311-3.jpg)

They ain’t necessarily going for Osceola’s. They coming because ours opens a month before theirs.
take your kids hunting and you won't be hunting your kids

I agree, it should include ALL of the WMA’s in the state and have been the first 14 days. They are also going to make you buy a full season license, not just the 10 day so that adds another $100 to their trip.

Who knows what all states may try something similar on down the road if this passes. The best course of action would have been a non-resident draw, like MS has.
