I train dogs for a living so my indoor time during daylight hours is limited, just the way I like it.

I technically have an office job, but since I handle multiple locations across the Southeast, I get out a fair amount for site and customer visits.

But man, when I have those weeks with nothing to do other than sit on Teams Meetings, I about die of boredom. Some days I don't even make it to lunch before I just head home and finish out the day there.

Yep regulatory reporting database stuff with VBA andSAS programming throw in for good measure. 4.5 more years.

Spend most of my time at a desk. Construction related job. Don’t kid yourself….it ain’t cool. Granted there are days when the weather is so bad I’m glad I’m inside but the other 90% of the time I’m wishing I was outside

Nope. I’m a in the field the majority of the time. I work on my reports in the cab of my SUV, public library or hotel room. And sometimes at home.

It’s funny how career paths change over time. The first half of my working life I spent in the woods, now I’m anchored to a desk all day (or night).

Sales manager, so I’m either traveling or at my desk catching up. What sucks about travel is I still have all the crap to do when I’m done meeting and greeting.

I work in Transmission Ops and Power Supply for a large utility. I’m a little farther down the supply line from the power plant operators who’ve commented. They pump out the power, we manage the grid it flows on. Our group hires pretty regularly, but we are currently in a freeze. These type jobs are available all across the country, and anyone with a NERC certification and a little experience is in pretty high demand. I specifically deal with other utilities that border ours, and they all have jobs available, just getting in the door is the hard part. My education and background is totally irrelevant, but luckily I got in a nuke plant and was able to move to where I am now after a few years.

I have a “desk job” but it’s in a trailer on a job site. I can be outside or inside as much or as little as I please. But I’m 5 days week and 50 hours not including 10 hours of travel per week to and from the site everyday. 6am-6pm ain’t no joke. And no I will not be able to retire early.

If you ever decided to make a change, large data centers would probably snatch you up too. Electrical / Mechanical Ops and Control room operations are big in data centers. Most of the guys I worked with had some kind of Nuke back ground, power generation guys, High voltage background, or Control Room Operators that came from Nuclear Plants. I’ve been out of the data center world for a few years and still get recruiters from Google, Apple and Facebook contacting me almost weekly.

I'm an estimator/project manager for a company that does both residential and commercial construction. Most of my morning is spent running around meeting with residential customers and then around lunch or so I end up in the office sending out estimates for those as well as doing takeoffs and preparing bids on commercial jobs. Never a dull day because something is always on fire somewhere and my phone never stops ringing. I do despise days when I don't have any residential estimates to run and I'm stuck at a desk all day though. But usually if I don't have anything else going on I'll help get material and equipment to the job sites or something just to get out.

Retired. Office job is aldeer, other sights and honey do’s. Plus all the rental houses. Then the acreage around the house. Then the hunting area. Then friends need help because I’m “retired” and have tools, plus know how to use a few. I went from a nice cushy job teaching/principal to this??????

Law Enforcement for the first half of my life, now I have an office/desk staring at two computers and one large screen on the wall. Sometime this year, will be adding probably two additional large screens on the wall.

Though, I don't have to sit there all the time and can get up and walk around inside or outside as much as I want. Work 12 hr shifts 3 days a week and one 6 hr.

Mine was 50/50. 50 in office and the other 50 I got to be around the aircraft.

About 8 years ago I had been at a mostly desk job for 10 years as a telecom engineer. Before and after that stint I was more in the field. The desk will put weight and unhealthy habits on a feller.

I guess I'm pretty blessed. I have an office, but most days I'm not in it more than a couple of hours. Schedules, tooling purchases, labor reports, email, etc. And a good many days less than an hour. Occasionally I get stuck there for a day or three solid when there are a lot of parts to program. I do work indoors all day, but the shop isn't nearly as confining.
