I was at Costco getting last last night and saw this car pull up. First thing I noticed was it was right hand drive. When it got closer I saw that it had a Rolls Royce-like look to it. The side mirrors on the front were an interesting feature . So I dug around on the interweb and discovered it was a Toyota Century. Evidently a luxury sedan made in Japan in the early-mid 90s. It was used as a chauffeurs car ir just a luxury car. Had a feature where an area of the front left seat could open like a window and fold down so the back seat passenger could stretch their legs out like they were in a recliner or on an ottoman. Pretty unique looking vehicle that Id never seen before.

That's a unique looking vehicle for sure, especially to find one in the states.

Guessing Toyota had to create a whole new frame just for that car due to it's size. Bet it was expensive, wonder what the selling price was?

Just like with fishing equipment, the very best of Japanese cars are not exported.

Saw a Maserati going down 431 the other day. Got 5 or 6 miles down the road and a Ferrari passed me.

Looks like you can get a new one for about $180K, but only in Japan. There are a few late 90's examples in the US that have sold for between 10-15K. I know it's Toyota reliability, but maintenance on those things must be a bitch, only 50 made a year and parts are not generally interchangeable with Toyota or Lexus.

There used to be a lady in Prattville that had 280ZX from Japan. It was a right side drive and was called a Fairlady…if I remember correctly.
