As much as I would like it, they should take every bit of money clawed back and throw it at the national debt. Then proceed to take that number of dollars saved and tell Congress to double that in spending cuts for the next fiscal year. If they caught this much waste and fraud at the surface level, we can surely operate at a much lower cost without any real interruption in service.

Paying the debt off is just paying for the bureaucratic slush fund we've been providing for the last 30 years!! Do you think these drunken sailor politicians are going to stop wasting our money anytime soon? They'll just see the reduced debt as an opportunity to blow more of our money! It should be a damn percentage of taxes we've paid over the last X number of years we get back, not some arbitrary flat rate for everyone OR better yet, pass a real bill that completely overhauls the tax system and does away with the IRS completely that helps us claw our money back over time with heavily reduced taxes.

What if we all just didn't send our payments in this year. I mean we have pretty good grounds not to, they have demonstrated they cant be responsible with our money.

Abolish the IRS, implement a consumption tax or flat tax and use the DOGE money for placing land mines/armored divisions at the southern and northern borders.

This has been my wish for a long time. I wouldn’t completely abolish the IRS completely though, just reduce it to about 100 or so officers/agents nationwide. Someone will have to answer questions and answer the phone calls.

I'm not for it. In saying "taxpayer", he's referring to everyone filing tax returns. If it is decided that refunds are to be issued, then refunds should be a percentage of what you actually paid in in federal taxes. Not witholdings for payments to SS and Medicare, actual federal taxes going into the general fund. Didn't pay in anything to federal taxes, no refund. Lots of people file returns that do not end up paying a penny into federal income tax. 47% to be exact.

I'm not for just giving people free money. They'll blow it all on vacations, purchasing stuff they cannot afford to make the payments to keep, and BS just like they did the covid money and it'll just put more dollars into the system, increasing the velocity of money almost instantaneously, which in turn will create significant increases in across the board inflation several months later.

Honestly, a refund should not be issued. Everything saved should be used to reduce the national debt, with a small portion side aside to pay for the prosecution of those crooks behind it, for building the gallows to stretch those necks, and the ropes to do it with. A message needs to be sent, and it needs to be sent harshly, so that everyone understands. "Never again"

Remember 2020/21. You put that much cash in the market and it will cipple us more. $1400 ea created massive shortages and price increases. .Folks would lay out of work for a week or 2 if they got $5k.
