Selling an item on FB marketplace and they need my Venmo info. Looks like an Asian chick. Is there risk in providing my Venmo account info?

I only do cash with market place.

If you’re getting paid by Venmo…get paid, transfer the funds to your bank account, then hand over the goods.

Felt like there were red flags I was uncomfortable with. Asian chick "who was out-of-town and would have her brother pick it up". Wanted to hold it with Zelle or Venmo. I told her I preferred cash but she replies, "my brother doesn't have his bank set up".
I'll just wait for another buyer.

I had a venmo payment reversed last week. I sent it to the wrong person by misspelling their name. I actually didn't even know it for about 3 weeks when the individual I intended to pay asked me about it. I realized the mistake at that point so started down the customer service road. Don't waste your time trying to do that online. You have to get somebody on the phone. Had my money back the next day.

Get a separate account to use with Venmo. Use it like a sweep account. Transfer money from venmo to the linked account then transfer from that account to your main account, leaving zero or minimal balance.

Had one try to do that to me. I said I preferred cash and nothing else. Never heard from them
