That cooling system is slick.

Would it be worth it to pipe raw water through the middle of the coolant reservoirs if the reservoirs run front to aft?

A 1” aluminum pipe that gathers raw water under the hull and drains out of the transom to suck heat from the coolant without ever touching the antifreeze.

If my writing doesn’t make sense, send me a PM and I’ll sketch it out.

That’s about as cool as it gets there! I couldn’t imagine having the skills to build something like that

Makes sense to me but, you would need a good clean water flow, how good of water flow will you get being a “mud boat”, I see mud, trash etc. clogging up the entrance screen

What Capehorn said. This thing will run in places where there is no water and in ponds just choked with aquatic vegetation. No sort of open cooling would work. These built in keel coolers handle the job fine.

So the keel coolers work like a radiator, goes in one end comes out the other? So, in the port forward, crossover, then out starboard forward and let the outside ambient temperature cool down the coolant?

Basicly. I guess it would be more attune to a heat exchanger than a radiator. On that Ls motor it will come out the starboard side, enter the front of the starboard keel cooler, run out the back, across the cross over pipe then up the port side. It then runs though a 1.5" copper oil cooler heat exchanger for the marine gear.

With the surface area on the bottom, and the 2" it runs up the sides, it ends up being about 10 1/2 sqf of surface area in contact with either water or wet mud to do its work.

I'm trying to get wrapped up with the alligator davit and canopy now. I'll get some pictures tomorrow of it. Other than a couple things I need to do on the trailer, I think I should finish uo with it tomorrow.

Almost got this thing wrapped up. Got the stuff done for the removable canopy. Got the davit done for being ablet to pick up alligators. It's removable, and the base that's built into the boat has hardly any footprint and does not come up above the height of the gunwals. Also build some removal seat bases. They just bolt to the gunwal and will just have thr same fiberglass airboat seat that I used for the operator seat bolted to them. The guy I'm building it for runs swamp tours at his place and wanted the option of being able to try and take people on this rig vs a costly airboat for a cheaper option for small groups.
Only real fab work I've got left is the exhaust. Got the material ordered for it.
Got a couple boat builds and a bunch of random fab work sitting in limbo I'm debating pulling thr trigger ok, waiting to see what the Doge is gonna do with me at my day job.
