I only had trouble with the first one that I bought, due to it being so thin and having so few threads on it. The replacement cap is plenty thick and hasn't been a problem at all. I replaced my battery yesterday. I have 2 others that have been fine too.

I think the problem might have been with the earliest ones they produced, and they corrected the issue. As you said, you gotta seat the battery first. The Burris is a good sight, but I sure wish I could still see well enough to get by without it.

May have been. Mine would have been considered a newer version. I liked the Burris version, but like the Vortex Venom better. Do the green dots starburst for you as bad as the red ones? I have a green dots Holosun, but haven’t mounted it to give it a good try, though.

I tried a Vortex years ago, but I think it was red. The starburst was worse on it than the Burris, but others looking at the same sight said the opposite. I traded it to BrentM for another Burris.

Nobody should pay any attention to me on sights. My astigmatism is so bad that my perception is likely to be different than anyone else. It's getting worse and may be the thing that ends my turkey hunting.
