While I like the 3.0 diesel, if your wife does a bunch of in-town, short drives, I'd be concerned about the DEF regeneration cycles. My wife’s daily commute for work is 24 miles round trip. 2 stop signs and 1 traffic light. It’s 1 hour from our house to Tuscaloosa, Tupelo, MS, Columbus, MS, Birmingham and the Shoals, nothing in between.

Wouldn’t have the Volvo if it was given to me, been there, done that. There is a reason that Volvos and Range Rovers are dirt cheap on the used market. I can leave tomorrow and drive to California and back in my Lexus LX with 179,000 miles on it and have ZERO issues. Probably couldn’t do that with a new Volvo, Range Rover or Jeep Wagoneer.

One of the new Lexus suv's is having issues. Think it may be that one. Rough ride, plastic on outside is melting, hood vibrates going down the road. That concerns me as well as the issues that Toyota has had with their new twin turbo V6’s.

If she is not familiar with diesel I wouldn't even think about putting her in one. Gas in the diesel tank, diesel in the def tank..... they are not mechanically inclined creatures.

diesel @ 3.60/ gallon means 100$ fuel stops + DEF = not my idea of wife's daily driver .. It balances out. I get 28-ish mpg with my 3.0 it’s worth the extra bit for fuel. Most full size’s get about 20. Unless I’m towing, def just about in sync with oil change for usage. It gives you a 1000 mile warning. Little higher maintenance schedule than a gas one, but it seems worth it so far. Exactly. And a 600+ mile range between fill ups is very nice when traveling. Sure beats the hell out of the 13mpg I get on the interstate in my gas 6.0. I’m just glad it has a large gas tank. It does hurt at the pump sometimes.

The baby diesel only gets @ 22 mpg when your loaded down for hunting and running 90+ MPH through Texas and Oklahoma. 😆 Still pretty good IMO. Unfortunately, the adaptive cruise control will not work above 95 MPH. 🤣

I know of two Denali's here in Huntsville that have been stolen by professional car thieves. They can unlock it, disable your OnStar, and drive off in less than 5 minutes. Pros can steal almost any vehicle. Friend had his F250 Platinum stolen from the parking deck at Atlanta Airport a couple years ago while he was on a cruise.
