I planted some of the WMS Dove Mix that had Foxtail in it, produced a ton of seed. I planted it as a field border for turkey and hopefully quail rather than a dove plot. It produced a ton of seed. If you used the WMS mix, plant early, the Sesame took forever to dry down and I assume you might have to burn it down with Gly to get it ready for season.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

I've only planted it in the WMS mix that kbush mentioned. It doesn't take long for the foxtail to head out. I just looked back at some pictures I made last time I planted it - I planted last week of May and it was headed out by June 20. Other plants in the mixture, like Egyptian wheat, were not mature by then, but the foxtail was. I don't think there was any of it left when dove season started, but it drew some in to the field in July and August and got them to using it.
I would think you need to plant much later than I did if planting a field of foxtail alone. Good luck with it!
