Retirement ain't the time to get old... It's the time to start actin' like teenagers with money.

The Confederate Jasmine is already in bloom down here and the weather is nice if not a little breezy. We walked to breakfast and had some Cuban coffee and some pastry, went to the beach and did some day drankin' with some 5 year old Planteray Rum. (That stuff is sure tasty.)

We came back and hit the in suite whirlpool hot tub together for a while until we looked like prunes. We took a little nap and then went out for another walkabout and a progressive dinner that started with Oyster City Brown Ale on draft and fresh oysters from Cedar Key at Up the Creek Raw Bar and finished with a super rich chocolate mousse cake and some nice coffee at The Owl Cafe.

Cooler today, but Mrs. Irish and I are living life and having fun together and that makes is all worthwhile.

This is exactly what you need to do.

I never realized just how good I was going to be a goofin' off. I'm happier than I have ever been in my life and my give a $hit meter is pegged out at about zero. Having no debt and nothing that you really need to be doing for someone else is really just kind of magical.

I don't take it for granted either. I sincerely thank God for it everyday.

I tell people "We're not on vacation... We're just goofin' off somewhere else." grin

Since I retired we spend a week on SGI every November; really like that area. Some of our favorites are Paddy's and Blue Parrot on the Island. Lynn's Quality Oysters in Eastpoint(excellent smoked mahi dip) and Half Shell Dockside in Apalach. Already mentioned Mornin' Bite/Evenin' Bite in Carabelle. Up the Creek has a great grouper sandwich.
Enjoy !!

At one time there was a restaurant on the creek named BOSS OYSTER had great food and about 30 different ways to prepare oysters. Only problem if you sat outside the seagulls would take your food away

Hey Irish, take a little trip out of town out to Indian Pass, they have an Indian Pass Bar/Grill with some live entertainment at times at night. Get there early, the locals pack the joint.

Glad you too are enjoying yourselves.

I love retirement. Me and the wife travel all over the country. I’ve got to plan something for her Bday in June. It’s the big 50.

My wife and sat at that very bar a couple weeks ago and ate oysters. We live in PSJ and ride over there every month or so to eat there or the Red Pirate in eastpoint. Work took me through appalach yesterday but I didn’t see Irish walking the streets. The company I work for has commercial pool build going on at the Gibson Inn. Maybe I will bump into him over there before the week is over. We also enjoy eating oysters at the Indian pass raw bar. It’s about 15 minutes from my house..
