I’ve been in my line of work for going on 23 years now. I’ve had a guy that’s worked with us on and off for probably the last 15. He decided to try and break out on his own. Very first thing he told me is he won’t go after work that I’ve bid because I’ve been “so good to him and fed his family for so many years”. I guess he figured out getting work isn’t as easy as it looks, because he went around to all the people we had work bid to, that he knew about, and is undercutting my prices. A few have given him the opportunity, only to be disappointed but others have remained loyal. One guy told me he is still telling people that he is working with me. Just another day of people proving they suck.

Sad thing is if a bean counter sees the company can save 3 cents no matter how long or how much work you've done you will lose to this jack wagon no matter his level of skill or not.
Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

Yeah, we've had that some too, it hurts. We treat our employees well, according to surveys we do, still some see that temptation and take it. We know it's hard finding new business at times to keep all the employees with enough work and not have to lay off of unnecessary. However, we have had a few turn on us, we have also seen, through our rental properties, people you are describing. Now I don't like paying any more than the next guy, but I also look at how long someone has been in business and stands behind their work. You keep your head up and do business the right way and in God's way, it will be blessed.
