I’ve been wanting to get into the fire game for a while now just didn’t have the time on the right weekend to get down to our camp. It wasn’t much but 10 acres probably of bottomland hardwoods but conditions improved and made to call to go for it. First time it’s been burned since the Indians have been around. This is just a start…what a blast!

Looks like a job well done. Maybe it’ll open it up some for ya. Bet they’s some in there now scratching around.

Just a word of caution on burning bottomland hardwoods, depending on species composition and objectives, you may end up damaging and losing a substantial amount of mature trees. Not saying you will here, as that fire looks low intensity, but I’ve seen bottomland hardwood burns result in a lot of mortality to red and white oaks, especially the water/willow component.

Go forth and prosper!

Yep that’s why we did it with humidity in the 50s with 7/8moh wind… it moved ok but was low intensity throughout. Was worried about that though

Love watching a good Burn. The after effects are even better!

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

^^^
This late in the year and with any significant fuel load is gonna result in some damage and mortality.
White oaks, red oaks & poplar will be impacted the most.
