If anyone would read the very short, one page, paper, what they found was a specific gene that makes some of us "white." They have isolated it and then cross checked it with other DNA and figured out that it was a mutation about 50,000 years ago.

To me that's what's interesting... That a mutant gene became dominate, but only in a certain area of the World.

It became dominant in that part of the World the same as yellow became dominant in Asia. It was part of the Ice Age dynamic selecting beneficial traits for the environment. Europe specifically the Caucuses then northward was under much more light limited conditions during the end stage of the Ice Age. Due mostly to constant cloud cover, wet conditions, and freaking bad cold weather all the time. Also there was a little pre-Toba Neanderthal mixing which Neanderthals were white as could be with redish brown hair.
Yellow for Asia, and very dark for Southern India. Black Indians are just as dark as Black Africans, and Koreans tend to be almost White but still very high-yellow. The Ice Age genetics are still around today but Ice people (Eskimo) still maintain the yellow because of their northern Asian origins. 50k years ago is still 25k after Toba which is when the real fun began.
Saharan Africa was most likely the Garden of Eden, as least that is what the archaeological finds in Libya and Egypt seem to suggest. A nice lush green temperate forested area with rivers and streams until about 15,000 years ago when things began to really warm up. An outward migration from Central Sahara towards Egypt and up into Central Turkey and beyond, with tribes congregating around Gobelki Tepe in Turkey (look that one up, its cool).

Abraham (Ibrahim) and UR in Southern Iraq about 6500-7000 years and Egypt. ...... Bible adds up just fine with that set of circumstances.
