Thomas Massie is a conservative Republican. Trump is an ex-liberal Democrat. Facts. Massie is the ONLY ONE that consistently votes against the spending insanity. Wish we had more principled representatives like him.

I think Maddie should cave this one time and then tighten up. He could derail all the good Trump is doing

that sounds like a good way to get primaried right out of your current job. So, let me get this straight. Massie is fighting all the over spending. Has a history of doing so. Trump, during his first term, spent like a democrat. Like a democrat he was until he decided to run as a republican. Then Trump creates DOGE to get rid of the excess spending. The same spending Massie has been and is still voting against. Now Trump wants to primary Massie for wanting to cut waste and over spending? Did I get that right? And you just blindly support that? I get that right too? Because if I got those two things right, then you're no different that a democrat. Same shit, different party. I'd like to say that's un-fuggin-believable. But I know it's not to most people that lean libertarian. We know big spending is ok when a Republican does it, but not a Democrat. When a democrat president is in office, it's the opposite. And we wonder why we are where we are. Dumbassery at it's finest.

So, government shutdown is a good thing when Democrats are in power. But not when Republicans are in power? Got it.
I see government shut down as as good thing. The longer they are shut down, the more we save and the more obvious it is which components are necessary and which are not. I see shutdown as a victory regardless of who's in power.
But the "it's good when my guy is in power" attitude is one of the biggest issues in our government. Some of us see it as good or bad and don't give a damn who it makes look bad. That's how right and wrong works. But we gotta introduce gray areas and be hypocrites about it, because...politics.
Fug that.

No JFK files l, no Eipstein files, same old CRs. But Massie is the problem? The problem is we don't have more like Thomas Massie. I'm not a sleeple and bound by a party, so maybe that's why I understand Massie.

Correct on all counts but I'm hoping Trump is holding off on some of this until he gets the Justice Department cleaned up. I wouldn't want them to start trying to prosecute the Epstein perps until they get the people out of there that have been pedo friendly.

Fug that. Fatty, it doesn't save a dime. Government employees get backpay after the shutdowns, furloughs, etc. Its as if they are on a paid vacation. Speaking from experience.

Maybe not on the front end. But on the back end, it most certainly does with this administration. Want to see what's needed and what's not? Shut it down for two months and we will see. Democrats should see this and be terrified.

I'm really confused.....all I see on TV is trump and Elon are cutting government and saving billions.......seems like if that was true congress would have to cut the budget because they don't need that money anymore.......seems like trump would be pushing congress to cut budget severely it would help him and Elon get rid of some of the swamp. If you cut government and save that money, what do you need it for next year? Did you really save it? Exactly. Congress isn't about saving of the money. They just want to get there grubby little hands on it. Those that believe one party is above the other need reevaluate. Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, Mike Lee are about the only ones I trust. You want see Tubbs Or Britt associated much with these three, it is as lucrative.

If you cut government and save that money, what do you need it for next year? Did you really save it? The problem is I think it's more complicated than that. They are trying to fund thru the end of the fiscal year, which then allows them the time needed to actually do a bill that does the cuts/recission and fund the govt thru the next fiscal year, ie a budget bill. It's my understanding it has been years, like even before Trumps first term that they had an actual bill like this and not just some CR that keeps it funded based on previous spending for a short amount of time.

Well, I guess that just too much for me to comprehend, I had a job that was supposed to get started in January, they delayed it six months, I had to start cutting spending immediately. See I'm not college educated and don't know how to seek funding, till job actually starts. But hey irs still has their hand out!
