The bacon that I make myself.

Farm Fresh Meats in Robertsdale. They slice a slab, around fifteen pounds in two thicknesses for us every couple months.Thin for wrapping poppers and a thicker for everything else. One pound yields close to twelve ounces fully cooked.

Didn't know Kentucky Legend even had bacon. I will be on the lookout because I love their little hams. Conecuh makes some fine bacon but if you tried Benton's you'd throw rocks at Conecuh.

My local Publix carried it until about a month ago. Don't know why they stopped and they still have the hams, which are very good. The Pig up in Ardmore sells it and at a lower price so I'm good.

There are several fine bacons made by smokehouses. I’ve always been partial to dry cured bacon and Smith Farms on the interstate in Cullman does a great job. Publix did carry Kiolbossa brand dry cured and is pretty fine. I love Conecuh but I gave up on their bacon. It’s unfortunately mid to me. In stores Wright brand is consistent and tasty as is Hatfield thick cut but my favorite in Kroger brand thick cut packs like the Wrights brand. It taste the best to me. That Kiolbassa bacon is great. Seems like every time I start liking a product at Publix the pull it from the shelves.

The bacon that I make myself. I haven’t found anything on the market that is even close to good homemade cured bacon. Especially slow smoked with a mix of dried pecan and red oak.

I've got some Boston Butt curing now for some buckboard bacon. Depending on the weather, I should smoke it this weekend.
