Got a Polaris Ranger that has set on flats and the Side walls are dry rotted. There is a lot of tread left on them. Anyone had any luck putting tubes in this situation or waste of time? They will air up but go flat in a couple days. Sizes are 26x10x12 and 25x10x12 if it matters.

Its not the will to win but the will to prepare to win!

You might want to look at tube prices and the cost to have them installed before you decide. I'm using a tube on my ATV rear tire.

Slime has worked for me in situations that I didn't think it would. Still occasionally go down when parked for an extended period.

You can try Flat out. It is similar to slime but uses Kevlar and works great. I’m not sure how it would work with sidewalls though

I tried all mentioned above, then finally used a tube.

I ran a tube in one for a while on SxS with no trouble.

Problem with fix a flat and others is that they put a bead of sealant around the bead of the tire/wheel. Hard to break down to install new/tubes in wheels

Boot patch the hole and tube the tire . Might run tubeless with the boot patch

It and Slime will also cause piths in aluminum rims and eventually the rim leaks.

You might be better off looking on marketplace for a set of new take offs. Alot of folks buy a brand new side by side and as soon as they get it home they take the stock wheels/tires off of it and put aftermarket on them and sell the stock set.

Reminds me of the fella I was in a club with. He carried a battery air compressor everywhere he went. Got to the club and first thing he did was pump tires. Can't say how many times I sat on my 4wheeler waiting on him to pump up his tires.

Take offs are a good suggestion, but quality tires are worth the money if you can easily afford them.

I would tube them. I've had no problem with tubed ATV tires. Slime will work but it does make a mess for tire replacement down the road and you will have to remove the wheel to get the slime to the side walls.

I agree with the posts about just buying new tires. A second problem with tubes is they can cause the rims to rust. Moisture gets trapped between the tube and rim and it can be a problem later getting other tires to seal correctly. Wire wheels and grinding can be a pain in the butt later.

Tubes are OK ................... till they get a hole in them. If the sidewalls are rotted , sounds like new tire time. A smart feller told me bout 50 years ago , the best way to avoid flats is to keep good tires on your ride.
