I used to have a Fimco hitch mounted spreader that worked well and held up well for many years. I added a variable rate controller to it for lanes and more narrow spots (lets you adjust the throw width, on the fly). I think I replaced the motor in year 2 of the 5 or 6 years of hard use, due mainly to fertilizer dust making its way through the shaft seal on the original motor and corroding inside the housing. Second motor still worked when other parts (throw plate fins, frame supports, etc) finally rusted through. * I had it for well over 10 years. Wasn’t trying to make it seem like it was short lived, especially for the price of it. HERE
