A friends son and a friend of his hunted my place this morning and had a great time. Birds gobbling like crazy, heard seven different birds and one wanted to play bad. They said it was the perfect turkey hunt. Little twerp has not sent me pics yet but it I saw it before heading to church and it had a 12” beard and 1 1/4 and 1 1/2” spurs. It was his last youth hunt so it was a good way to graduate.

We just watched a strutter and a looker come from 150yards And skirt us on our bad side at 10 yards.

We are in A cedar with limbs all around and trigger man couldn’t swing to get a shot.

Birds got behind us and walked away.

This is Second time we have been swung on the wrong side of the cedar this morning.

We have swapped sides of the tree maybe third time will be the charm.

Son said the strutter had a double beard I had rodeo going on once they made that hard left trying to figure out how to get him around on them. I did not have time to check. But we got a great look at him strutting at 10 yards. Just no way to get the barrel on him.

Damn just damn we haven’t moved trees since 6am and I’m wore out and need a strong drink!

We got to hear one gobble and got within 200yds or so if I had to guess. Then some bonehead decided it was a good day to go joyriding on a SxS even though there are half a dozen signs stating it’s illegal. Bird spooked and bailed and that was that…#publicland
