Planted 3.5 or 4 acres of round up ready corn Saturday and Sunday ahead of the rain. I hope it pans out this year for what it all costs

Man I paid 372 for the bag I bought at the coop. I use to get the NWTF RR corn from a farmer I knew, but he passed away.

You can buy it a whole lot cheaper than you can grow it, plus it's available when you want it to be.

Go to thestore and buy you a sack of corn. Plant 100 in a row. A couple weeks later, after 96 of them have come up and grown to about 6inches tall. Spray it with roundup and tell me what happens. If youre paying $10/sack instead of $372/sack, you really dont have to worry too much about germination. You just cant sell the corn, to stay within the law.

I plan on broadcasting mine and sowing it pretty thick

[Linked Image]

This was sack corn, broadcast. I did it a couple times a few years ago. Crows ate all of it when i planted in rows. They dont get it all when i broadcast it. I quit doing it because it got to where the deer ate it all before i start hunting. Where im planting it this year, i dont have near as many deer and im gona hunt early.

I did that route last year JW and it didn't do anything last year. Keep us posted on your results and I'm going to do the same when it starts coming up. The very best year I ever had was my first year planting corn and used the NWTF corn from the farmer I knew. It was also the best year hunting I ever had here on my place.

What do you mean "itdidnt do anything"? It didnt sprout? Ive done it twice. Both times i planted about 10ft in my garden, waited on it to get 6-8 inches high, sprayed it, waited a week or so to make sure the gly didnt kill it, then i planted my cornfield. Ive heard some people say thesack corn wont make corn, it wont be RR, it wont come up. Ive never experienced any of that.

Why is there a law against selling it? Health reasons or lobbyists from mansanto paying politicians?

This was broadcasted in dead grass, then ran a disc over it. Just ole triple clean corn. Cheap and simple. Makes a good enough yield to help out I feel like. Mixed some brown too millet and few cow peas in with it.
