Seen a guy loading 7 pressure treated 6x6x10 onto the top of his Subaru. Noticed it had a sunroof too, I’m betting had will be the results by time he gets to his destination. Depending on how wet those things were I’m guessing around 800 pounds on that roof. I’ve done some sketchy chit but nothing like that. Not on a roof rack, just laying on the roof with 2 ratchet straps.

Hope he don’t have to slam the brakes on.

I assume he had help getting them up there.

I use to have a picture of a Lincoln at the Northport Walmart with 12’ lumber hanging out the back window. Possible I could round it up.
I’ve hauled 12’ lumber in my Kia Sedona, and 4x8 sheet rock with the back seats out.
It’s like packing for vacation, sometimes it’s a challenge…😁

That’s nothing. Go sit outside a Walmart for an hour. I should have followed this guy out just for the show that was about to start.

We had a guy roll up at our shop a couple months ago, in a pick up truck, with a 24’ pick board (imagine a 24’ aluminum fixed ladder with walking treads on one side) running sideways through the rear windows of his 4 door truck. He drove from downtown Birmingham to Bessemer like that.

Got behind a SUV last week. Was pulling a small lawnmower type trailer. Had a tailgate/ramp. Has it up. Maybe 5' tall. Bout 10 pieces 7/16" osb standing leaning against the gate. About the third bridge gate popped and plywood everywhere. I managed to get by him just before it let go

Yea the guys at Lowe’s were loading them up for the guy. As I was walking out some woman that worked for Lowe’s was coming back in and told somebody she didn’t want any part of that lol. They had 3 guys helping him load. Wish I’d had the time to follow him see how it worked out.

I saw a guy at Marvin's insist that they load an almost full pallet of cap blocks on his rusty Chevy Luv. They had a fork-lift trying to load it when I drove off. If I hadn't been in a hurry I would have liked to watch the show.

I saw what appeared to be about a 1448 mod-vee boat strapped on the back of a F150 with the bow way up over the cab and the transom almost dragging the road. It was going across the Arab causeway from Guntersville.. It may have even been a 1652'. It looked huge and the truck look pretty small. I have no idea how they loaded it, but I can imagine one possible way that it got unloaded.

That'll make for an interesting insurance claim.

Come on now, I’m sure I’m not the one that planted many a 4x4’ shooting house w16’ 4x4’s dragging the ground then three people standing it up as the lucky person backs the truck up. Damn wonder none up us got hurt due to someone slipping leaving all the weight on two people or an old 4x4 leg breaking. Took us many years to say the heck with putting them 12’ off the ground. The FEL with forks along with the metal brackets you slip the legs into make it so much easier. As for oh shit moments, did have a 4x4 hardy board sided house slide out of the back of a truck on I65 due to a single strap coming undone. Learned more straps the better.

I bought an upright deep freezer at Lowe’s several years ago. The sales guy asked me if I needed help loading, told him I did. His next question was what are you driving, just for grins I told him a Toyota Prius. I finally let him off the hook and told him I was in a truck. He said he could write a book on the stupid stuff he’s seen people do at the loading area.

buddy of mine had a 4X4shooting house go vertical rocket while driving. It came down on the hood of a truck going the other way driven by an old black man. They bought the mans truck on the spot. This was in Hale Co, 1985 or so.

I saw a guy at our local Lowes leaving with lumber poking through the sunroof of a Mercedes sedan.

Like, 12-15 boards 8-12 feet long.

My cousin had the same thing happen. He was given a large dog house it blew out hit a vehicle and totaled it and they cancelled on him. Maybe around mid 80s
