Family has been trying to convince me to buy a boat for a couple of years now and they are about to break me down. At this point I’m not sure if I want a new boat, a gently used boat or to put them off for another year but here’s what I do know. I want something that has a 10 person capacity, at least a 150hp motor and under $25k. Our plans would be to ski and tube some, cruise some and fish some up and down the hooch and some around the appalachicola bay and port st joe. Let me know if you’ve got something. Thanks

You need a Hurricane with a Yamaha 4 stroke. It's perfect. I don't have one, but that's what to look for. Prices have come way down. You can find a gently used one very reasonable if you don't rush.

Thanks, I was hoping that you would reply. I like what I see in the hurricane sundeck 205, just haven’t found one reasonably priced yet. Let me know if you run across anything, we might could make a deal.

Are you gonna keep it on the water or tow it? Towing is like launching a battleship on a windy day.

Yes sir, we just recently bought a place on lake eufaula with a pretty nice double decker dock. But I figure to pull it down to the gulf of America from time to time.

2017 Yamaha SX195 jetboat. Fits your requirements. Will seat 10 (max), great for tubing and skiing, very shallow draft since it is a jet boat and in your price range, under 300 hours, annual service records. Located in Orange Beach.

I bought hurricane deck boat a few years ago. It was great until we got it some fairly choppy water. It would nose dive into the wave and I've never been more afraid of sinking. My advice is avoid th.

Which model did you have? After reading up I see this is pretty common with the flatter bottom hurricanes, I’ve read that the 4 digit models have a deeper v hull which is much better in rough chop

Any boat will take water if there are wake boats around. The length makes a big difference also. 22/23’ minimum imo. I had a 19’ Chapparral and it was awesome if you were the only person on the lake.
