So, I keep seeing the left flooding the book of faces with the fact that POTUS did not go meet the four soldiers killed in Lithuania when they came home and went golfing instead. How bad do the optics look to y'all? Did he really blow that off for golf?

Apparently sitting presidents are supposed to attend and all I am seeing is that SecDef Hegseth did go while Trump played Golf at Mar-a-Lago.

They don’t always go but they frequently go. I saw a clip on TikTok the other day of some Navy Seal or Green Beret type talking about how despite him not liking Obama’s policies, Obama came and stood at a rigid and solid continuous salute for about 40 mins while all bodies were unloaded. He was amazed and impressed that Obama held that salute for so long, in the dead of night.

I do remember Biden was at one and he was heavily criticized and mired in controversy for a while because he checked his watch a few times.

Trump is at a LIV (golf) event with his Saudi buddies. When asked, he said he didn’t even know about the story, even though the army had been searching for several hours. So yeah, I think the optics are bad. If you want to see what the military service member community of Reddit is saying, you can see that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Military/s/kefkwe9GX6

I think the optics are especially bad considering just how honored the soldiers were by the Lithuanian government and their president, then for Trump to be like “can’t miss this golf dinner” 🤷‍♂️ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1BSgeGER-vc

They weren't killed in wartime battle , while tragic and sad, I don't see a problem with POTUS not going.

Rules of engagement under Obama and Biden caused way more casualties and pain while Trump changed the rules for what was best for our soldiers. That in itself shows Trump “CARES” much than those two morons ever did.

Look at Benghazi and Abby’s Gate fiascos and lies that cause unnecessary deaths for our soldiers

Military accidental deaths happen every year. Nobody expects a President to attend a funeral, much less a transportation from point A to B. It's another fake outrage event drummed up by his enemies. Nobody is listening. Most all decent people are tone deaf to the BS.

I dunno, I feel like the mental gymnastics are turning pretty hard here to defend Trump. You think the soldiers families and their unit cares if it was “in combat” or “in training”? Servicemen deaths are deaths, unless you think they are “suckers and losers”.

I think your the one doing the mental gymnastics trying in most every post of any political topic to criticize Trump. Just say your a Democrat that doesn't like Trump and quit trying to be subtle about it. I don't agree with everything Trump does or says, no politician for that matter. It's funny how you started posting once you thought you had something on Trump. Have a good day.

Oh I am vehemently anti-con man, I won’t deny that. But that doesn’t make me a Democrat.

The man literally tanked the markets, skipped a transfer of soldiers, and rode off to play golf with the Saudi’s probably having a great weekend. I believe he’s played golf just about every weekend since being elected, at great cost to Americans I’m sure. All while people are worried sick about their retirement and investments.

WOW - This tragedy really hit me hard - these 4 Soldiers who are deployed to another Country doing Multi-Coalition Training _ died doing their Job - in another Country with an Ally of our Great Country - Yes the died Tragically in a 70 Ton Recover vehicle that Sunk - Heroes are Heroes !! President Trump should have been there but I'm sure he had to make a Hard Decision based on Facts we will never know !! Let's Celebrate these Men - True American Heroes for sacrificing their Lives for our Freedom !!

As said before, troops die while training and doing their everyday jobs and President's don't attend their funerals or even know that these deaths occurred.

Trump has met with multiple families who suffered loss from crime, war etc. Pretty petty to criticize a President for not going to a funeral period. Presidents are extremely busy and if they make an effort 95% of the time then praise them for their concern. At least when he goes he is not looking at his watch every few minutes!

Thousands of active military men and women died while bidun was president. Did he go to thousands of funerals?

This incident had four deaths which makes alot of news. Others die doing their job every month in singular incidents that we rarely hear about. They don't get much news, nor presidential visits, but they were just as important as anyone else.
