Anybody have any experience with these rifles? Would you choose one over the other and why?

No experience with the Howa mini but there’s lots of info out there on them. As far as Ruger, I’ve never met one in any caliber that didn’t shoot great. I’m not big on the new twisted fluted barrels on the Gen 2s. I do like the stock.

Howa builds great rifles.

I have owned well over a dozen Howa made rifles, but some of them had "Weatherby" on the side.

3 here currently, and would have no issue with another.

That’s what got me thinking about it. I’m trying to decide between the 6.5 Grendel or the 6 ARC. I’ll probably do the Grendel first and eventually do the ARC in a Tikka platform, depending on how much I like the Howa.

I love my Grendel. I wish I could find a left handed bolt gun but I haven’t had any luck with that. If I did have a left handed bolt, I’d probably bet that it would be my primary hunting rifle for deer.

If I get one, my plans are to use 129 grain ABLR bullets in it.

Have a Howa mini action in 6.5 grendel. One of my favorite rifles. Action is smooth and shoots great. Only complaint was the plastic bottom metal, so I replaced it with machined aluminum bottom metal. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Will start reloading for it soon.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I’m gonna have to give one a try. Let me know how the load work goes. What bullet(s) are you wanting to shoot?

Mine likes 115 and 123 grain. I've been shooting barnes vor-tx in 115 and it's been excellent ammo that groups well. Gonna stay in that grain weight. Palmetto state has some gredel ammo and I bought a few boxes just haven't shot it in the howa yet. I have an ar in 6.5 grendel as well and the PSA ammo shot well in it. Oddly though, I have some wolf surplus ammo that groups better in the ar than some factory ammo.

If we can work out a time and day, you're welcome to check out the howa and see what you think before you buy one. Just let me know.

That’s an awful nice gesture. I would love to take you up on it.

I have the mini action in 223, 350 legend. 6 arc and patiently waiting on my 20" hb 22 arc. They are great rifles and quickly have become my favorite truck gun/toting rifles.

Here

I just bought a Howa mini action in 300 BO off Gunbroker.
The walnut stock is what sold me on it vs the Ruger Ranch.
Can’t wait to pair it with my Nomad 30.
