Think the new tariffs will affect them since I would imagine most of the stock they buy is from China?

A lot of their stuff is from China (not all), but they’ll still be cheaper than most stores. My wife hits all the dollar trees for “knock off” items.

If you like stock dividends, there are some good prices on MLP's.

April 4th last year the price of gold was 2288.89 an ounce....Today its around 3000 an ounce, give or take a few dollars...I read where the price this morning is 31.37% higher than when the markets opened at this time last year...That may be something else to consider instead of stocks Doc...idk...Good Luck either way...

Here is ya'll some useless information for today...since you aint doing nothing... As of today Gold is at $3,254.50 per ounce.... While last Monday, on April the 7th @1:30 pm, It was at $2,973.50...So, it went up $281.00 dollars an ounce this past week.... I figured you could've bought 8.4 ounces with that 25K last week, and then sold it back this week for a profit of $2360.40....Thats a pretty decent R.O.I. imo..... Now...Back to your regular scheduled programming...

It would be much more than that wouldn't it , figuring in splits. It's split several times since '80 Ate least 7-1 once and 2-1 and 4-1 several times.

This is the correct answer. It has split a bunch of times.

However, the point being, if anyone of us could predict the future, we would all be rich unless we were dumbasses.

All we can do is play the averages and even then we will lose sometimes.

The point I was trying to make is there are other things he could invest in besides stock, The good Doc may want to diversify a little instead of just buying stock, I dont know why you think the point I was trying to make is predicting the future.... no one can do that....Gold, or even land could be a safer alternative to stocks is what I was trying to convey, even though I derailed a little and he didnt ask....

I read where no other company in history has created as much wealth as Apple . 20 years ago it was less than $2 a share, has run up , split , repeated that many times. Mind boggling what it's done just the last 20 years. When they got in the Iphone business , they went to the moon and beyond. I had some shares and got in on the last split and of course , it took off again. I use the profits from Apple and a couple of other high rollers to fund my BRK.B addiction.

It will be interesting to see the call/put volume next week on apple.
