I feel for folks who fixing take required distributions. But if put it in Roths that goes away .

Don't you still have to pay the taxes in the 2025 tax year on those funds even if they are rolled into a Roth?

You can't roll a required minimum distribution into a Roth and avoid taxes; taxes are due in the year the RMD is taken

You can pay the taxes before you put it in (Roth) or pay the taxes when you take it out ( traditional) or roll a traditional into a roth and pay the taxes when you do. One way or another your paying the taxes😀. I started a traditional IRA 20 years ago. Doesn’t make sense for me to roll it over now. I opened a Roth IRA a few years ago and primarily fund it now. Wish I had opened a Roth when I started but I didn’t know any better.

But, you are limited how much you can deposit in a Roth annually

It really depends on what kind of tax bracket you are in after you retire.

If you have high debt and high bills and need a high withdrawal rate from your investments, then you will be taxed a lot.

On the other hand if you have no debt and need little of that untaxed money then your tax burden will be low.

When I did our taxes for the first year of our retirement we were only taxed a total of 8.9% of our total income.

I know you can’t roll the rmd into a roth. Should been in a roth to start with . Then u never have worry about when u take it out . I’m sure some older folks that’s retiring soon probably didn’t have the option back where they started to work . Feel for the them when the market drops . Personally after I hit 65 mines going into some kind of safer account that roller coaster of market will not affect it that much . My retirement at work a roth but the match from employer part not just yet . All my Ira’s outside that is all roth .

Don’t fall for the negative propaganda trump knows exactly what he’s doing and the other side is gonna be something very good for even us cogs in the wheel. No pain no gain and he’s got the balls to do what has to be done. We have been getting so screwed over it isn’t even funny to talk about how bad and is disgraceful to hard working common folks.

The plan is pretty simple- Higher tariffs for exports coming into this country. That raises the price on those products so that the American companies that produce those products can compete. Therefore spurring American and Foreign companies to invest their resources here, spurring the growth of our economy. Trumps plan is that we be self sufficient. The reason many companies moved their production overseas was nothing but greed. Way cheaper work force with no labor laws etc… They wanted that extra profit.

China is being a dick so Trump jacked them up 104% Tariff. Meanwhile, the other Asian countries are moving as fast they can to get the good deal.

Look at SMCI. I bought a little more. 20% short float. When they cover it will run

I just placed a small order with them.

Sure hope you're right. I coulda done this drp/retirement thing being offered now, but with what i've lost since 1/30...i need to stick around and hope for a recovery. That and the fact that i'm not able to retire to the lake...gonna work somewhere, might as well stay here doing what i enjoy. At least for a couple more years.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.
