Back in the 60s there was farmer. He owned a large piece of land in Headland. The feds wanted to put a new 4 lane right threw the middle of his property. He told them no, he would never sell his land. This old man farmed his whole life and never filed income taxes. He was probably farming before there were income taxes. The IRS comes to visit him after negation failed. After the conversation he decided to sell his land. I'm not sure if he ever paid any taxes, but he did say he did say. They changed his opinion about selling his land. Kind of an interesting story. I wonder how many old timers never paid a cent.

Hasn't been long ago I knew a carpenter that had never filed and did not have a bank account. He wasn't that old either. Probably in his 50s.

If the government wants your land they are gonna get it. The only question is how much are they gonna pay. In Alabama that is skewed very much in the favor of the Comdemnor.

I know a couple of painters who are off the grid. Never paid a dime.

They all still paid taxes. Maybe not income tax, but I'm sure they still paid more tax than anyone should have to. Sales, fuel, sin, etc.

We have millions across America who have never paid in a penny and are waiting on Social Security to take care of them.

I've been told don't know it to be a fact, if you never file income taxes the first time, they will never come looking for you
