I have seen some folks hate those older Tundra's when the timing belt broke. That is very rarely an issue if proper maintenance is done.......change it every 80-100k miles and you shouldn't have any problem

Fair warning - I don't know if all Toyota Tundra trucks are this way or not.
I rented a "full size" pickup on a business trip a few years ago, around 2023. They gave me a Tundra. I put about 500 miles on it over 3 days, and hated every mile. Possibly the most uncomfortable truck seat I ever tried.
If I won one in a contest, I would sell it.
I've heard that, particularly about the Tacomas, but never really about the Tundra. A lot of folks buy aftermarket seat risers that raise the front of the seats an inch or two, to put them at a more comfortable angle

I'm not a fan of the elevated seats in the older Tundra's either. The newer ones are great but the turbo engine is a no go for me.

I ended up selling it on here. The most uncomfortable vehicle for a long trip that I have ever had. My Nissan Frontier and Ford Ranger both were way more comfortable and just as reliable. So is my 2018 Ram, but even more so.

I had a 2012 Silverado extended cab that I loved! Ran like a scalded dog with no issues. Beautiful truck till and old lady T-Boned me into 5 summersaults. Replaced it with another 2012 model 4 door. I aint real happy with it at all. Wiring all sucks, accelerator lag, and a handful of other lil crap that just gets on my nerves. Roll of the dice I guess.
Its not the will to win but the will to prepare to win!

Love my 2005 F-150 Tacomas are ok for folks that don’t actually need a truck but like to support the gas stations anyways

you couldn't give me a Chevy for that very reason. Why can't Chevy use a transmission that will last??? Stupid as shit. GMC same damn thing. Dropped 4K on a new transmission at 105,000 miles on my 2016 Sierra. It’s paid for so imma gonna drive it a while.

Guess I need to move over here from the “…Love…” thread. Just got my 2013 F150 out of the shop yesterday after having the fuel pump and fuel pump control module replaced to the tune of $1300. This morning it broke down again. Cranks but won’t start. All fuses and relays are ok, even swapped in known good ones into the problem locations to rule that out.
Was planning on this being GomerJrs truck in a couple yrs but I’m not gonna have a vehicle I don’t trust.

$100 says you had contaminated fuel and they didn’t purge & clean the tank before swapping fuel pump and control module. Highly unlikely for them to have both gone out at the exact same time. You drove it just long enough for the contaminated fuel to clog up the new pump and whammy, right back where you started minus $1300

I don’t think it is. It’s done this a few times intermittently before, but like 5-6 months apart. The first couple of times, strangely enough hooking it to jumper cables would get it to crank and then run like normal for the next several months, but a jump box wouldn’t. This time, no dice. And it’s not the battery, it’s still plenty good. Checked fuses and relays and they’re good. It’s back to the shop now

The fuel pump fuse socket is a very common issue. Ford even makes a fuse relocation kit (go figure) ,I think I remember it being fuse #27

Now I did have A Chevy 1985 custom delux. 305 motor. It was a bit of a bitch. Only kept it 3 years. I had an 86 with the 305. Wouldn’t pull the hat off your head. Would probably bring 25,000 now

Now what about the new Yotas with the new engines? Are they going to be as good? I know they still love gas. That’s a good question, but I won’t find out….I’m trying to find me a 20yo old Sequioa or 4Runner I can pay cash for

I only tow a 16' aluminum boat so all the power I need.
