Well, this is a rare gun and caliber they didn’t make many years. Ended up with my uncles 257 BLR that’s not perfect but still very nice. Gun dealer had $1650 on it with an older VXII 2-7x33. I thought that was unreasonable because I know what my uncle paid for, in its same configuration, from the same dealer in 2010. But for someone who really wanted a 257 BLR, there it is. I didn’t pay that to get it, I’ll tell the story of how I got it another day. Saw a used 280 BAR in the Bass Pro in Prattville today for $1500 with an older tasco on it. Don’t think it’s worth that, but it’s a 280. Don’t see those everyday. If I didn’t have a 270 BAR and a B78 280 I’d probably been more interested. I am guilty of splurging on nice guns in uncommon calibers and I’m here to admit it.
