I really think the turkey season is over here in North AL. I haven’t heard a gobble in over a week, and only 3 gobbles all year. It’s been a very strange year. What do you think?

I think it's over in the whole state. Been hunting them for 26 years and this is the worst year for gobbling. Hunting 4 different counties. Had pics of toms strutting in Jan/Feb, headed to TN next weekend and hope they are doing better than here. One of my hunting buddies decided the same thing, he went to Tennessee and hunted daylight to dark for 4 straight days. Heard 2 gobbles. Robinhedd

We heard 6 on Saturday morning. Killed one at 11:25 and he never stopped gobbling.
Heard 4 yesterday and walked away from one gobbling at 8:30 to go to church.
All of them still had hens with them.
ETA: Not in North Bama

My Turkey season has pretty much been over. Haven’t had a truck for 2 weeks and even if I get it back this week, it ain’t looking good.

No gobbling all season really. Iv killed 3, only one gobbled twice. Only had one other bird that I didn’t kill gobble maybe 100xs Then a few random gobbles here and there. Been even worse for last 3 weeks. Definitely the worst gobbling iv heard in 32 years in se al. Seems to be less gobbling every year I think they are changing, adapting or evolving. Whatever you want to call it

Been a weird one for sure but I’m betting more in too many Jake’s whooping up the longbeards. Been seeing single hens for 4 weeks or so. Some nesting early and others are still together but running with jakes. Very little gobbling for most I’ve talked with. LBs have been spooky and I assume because they been getting whooped. Least amount of action I’ve ever had.
