He secured the border in weeks. That alone was worth every vite he got. He has done a teriffic job thus far. The tariff deal is going to absolutely be one of the most profitavle decisions ever made for America and Americans with a little bit of time +1 Here is what I don't get. You don't have stock market losses if you don't sell. Those are just paper losses, and if you were smart. you would be buying while stocks and funds are on sale. It’s way more complicated than that. Shareholders and capitalism demand growth. It’s not enough any more for a company to make a million dollars profit. If they made $1 mil last year, gotta make $2 mil this year. $3 mil next year. When the market is down, spending slows, hiring slows, layoffs happen. There is a not so fine line between having sense and being in a cult.

All I know is the money I invested in the market under Obama tripled under Trumps first term. Had I not gotten to buy shares at a lower price, then my gains wouldn't have been significant.
The market is going to go up and down. Historically, it always rebounds, and goes higher than it was before a big drop.
I think we are getting hosed as a country on tariffs we pay. That needs to be corrected, and while the market doesn't seem to like the uncertainty, everyone with $ in the market now will benefit down the road.
What is Warren Buffet doing right now? He's buying. Buffet is sitting on cash

It's the "instant gratification" mentality that is predominant in our society today. No one is willing to endure any hardship at all in order to achieve a higher goal in the future. Everyone wants it all to be good and they want it right now.
The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.

Trump once tweeted that any president that drops the market 1000 points in a day or two should be impeached. Now that he’s dropped it 4-5k and is playing “rabbit season, duck season” with China it’s “oh you can’t look at the stock market numbers as a sign of anything”. He also used to blast Obama for “ruling by executive order” and “playing golf too much.”
I’m both convinced he simply doesn’t know what he’s doing, he’s negotiating like a 5 year old on a playground, and he has Biden Derangement, as well as just over the crazy mental gymnastics people will do to cover for it.

Gotta be a Democrat if you DARE to speak the truth. You’re supposed to shut up and blindly say “he’s doing great”! I tell my kids you’re not an adult until you can see your own faults and admit them openly. I fell the same way about other people. He could go down as one of the best presidents ever, but sometimes I wonder how he even stands himself. Does he ever go back and listen to what he says? HE has the power to send the stock market soaring, or crash it…. I’m so glad we have a Republican president, but he could do better. Closing the border wasn’t hard btw. It needed to be done sure, but that wasn’t much of a bar to reach. The border has been closed for decades before Biden.

💯 Just like Trumps rant about Powell…. Why can’t he be an adult and call him in the office and have a conversation? Why mad tweet a bunch of crap like a jealous teenager would do and plunge the market. I voted for him so I think I can voice an opinion on him. Right now he’s the laughing stock of the world. I don’t like that

I don’t like that I absolutely hate my 6.125% mortgage rate but Powell did a great job in my opinion. He managed to get the country out of crazy times without either a recession or crazy run away inflation (like South America levels). It’s classic Trump. He can nominate you and appoint you, but if you dare ever disagree with him, he will try to torch you to the ground. He ONLY wants yes men. I can think of former world leaders who did that, and in the end it always panned out bad for them.

Why not? I believe the Fed cutting interest rates at that time had a bit to do with it as well.

Why not? I believe the Fed cutting interest rates at that time had a bit to do with it as well. The Fed responded in kind over 2022-23 by delivering the largest rate hike since 1980, increasing the federal-funds rate by 5 percentage points. From July 2023 to September 2024, the Fed held the federal-funds rate at a lofty plateau of 5.25%-5.50%.Mar 31, 2025 Try again

Looking at the market as an indicator of collective wealth is a bad idea, in my opinion. The reason the markets soared under previous administration's is because inflation decreased the value of the dollar which increased the price of everything including stocks. Printing money increases asset value and this country has been wide open for the last two decades. Trumps policies that will bring jobs back home and slow the Fed down will have immediate negative results to the market but will be the best thing for the country in the long term. Everyone wants reform until it affects them personally.
