I get a call from my son’s teacher. My son is nine. Seems like him and a few friends thought it was a great idea to stick a pencil in a wall socket. Next they take a paper clip and unfold it and stick it in the socket. BAM. My son gets a nice shock. They short out the classroom and the teacher says boys will be boys. I know one kid that may not sit for a week. I’m boiling mad

Yep Boys will be Boys. Cut him some slack he’ll never do that again. Lesson learned.

His mistake is being the dumb one willing to do it. Not that he did it. I was always suspicious of a situation where the others were all nudging me to do something. I'd rather be the one doing the nudging.

I told my wife if I ever got that call from a teacher I'd believe them. My son would 100% be neck deep in it, if not the actual leader.

Funniest moment I can remember of my son and his friends was a spend the night. Probably 10 11yo boys in my basement with a small load taser. A knot of them wrestling at the same time to take control and pop the others. Went on for near an hour and I watched and laughed the entire time. Boys gonna do stupid stuff.

I would say factor in the self punishment already. I did the same thing as a kid once. He learned a good lesson on his own, sounds like nothing is permanently broken. If you wanna take away an electronic or make him go pick up sticks in the yard, sure. But I wouldn’t beat him.

I did that once when I was young! Haven't done it since. No need for punishment unless he is a slow learner.

Myself and a friend blew up oxygen/acetylene “bombs” outside the vocational shop one time and knocked several tools off the wall. I can still hear that boom now and the tools hitting the floor. We never did that again either without having to be told not to. 😂

We rigged the school bully’s door to electrocute him when he grabbed it. Military school and were 18. Caused a big fight lol. Some of you may have heard of the bully he passed a few years ago. Ed smith the infamous hooters boat chase guy. We called him whoop. Strong as a damn ox.

Yep, no whoopin' will come close to being as good a deterrent as the shock he got was

Naw I did not spank him. We had along talk by the pond. He came clean as a whistle. I asked about his friends and he said they were always in trouble. Lesson learned?? Yea dad stay away from them.

Heck when I was in the sixth grade, we had a kid stick a pair of scissors in the wall socket by tossing them like a dart. Are you talking about shooting sparks and fire? Everybody cleared the room.

I stuck a nickel in a light socket one time. As it was lighting me up it welded the nickel in place. I learnt my lesson
