Sitting on tailgate drinking coffee in bullock. Waiting to hear nothing before going in to work. Good luck to anyone else out here! Pretty sunrise about to start.

I forgot how to kill a Turkey…called one all the way across a pond and pasture. Hung up at 100 but I tried to pull a move to kill him and ended up spooking him. Fun stuff

I had one gobbling from about 150 yards away while I was loading my shotgun at the car. Never could get him to come up out of his holler, but I have a plan for tomorrow from the other side of the holler (assuming he remains in that area). These were the first gobbles I've heard all season.

Left my camper at 4:17 this morning for one of my spots. Drove the sxs 20 minutes and walked another hour. Got there to only hear one bird gobbling off the roost, and he was only about 400 yards from where I parked the sxs!! Left the area at 630 and headed towards him. About halfway there, I struck one on a far ridge. Circled him and got on the ridge. Got him gobbling pretty good about 100 yards. He came to within 75 yards and wouldn’t come any further. Could hear him drumming, but never saw him. I then decided to head back towards the sxs and head home. Got to within a 1/2 mile of the sxs and decided to cut. A bird answered and he was about north of me. He was across a huge creek from me, so I had no choice to get to the sxs and drive about a mile around to get to him. Took about 40 minutes of driving and walking to get around to where I thought he was. By now it was 930. I slipped down the ridge to where it feeds to a hairpin bend in the big creek. First series of yelps and cuts went unanswered. Slipped down the ridge another 100 yards and cuts went. BAM! He answered about 150 yards out. I quickly set up and the game was on!! Took about 20 minutes of talking to him to coax him up the ridge. Killed him at 29 steps for AL #3 and #5 overall. 18.6 lbs 1 1/8” spurs 10” beard ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/M9tsM3V.jpeg)

Congrats Cgardner! That pic looks like a place close to where I used to hunt in coosa county. I actually heard one. He was a mile away across 2 properties but I can say there was 1 live turkey in bullock county this morning.
