Seventy three is too old to have a wisdom tooth removed. You'd think after this long they would just fade away with the rest of the body parts and stuff. But nope, had to get all infected and such. But nothing compared to what folks here deal with daily. Can't help but think about what gun I could have bought with that $800.

I’m guilty of that, but it wasn’t a wisdom tooth

Oldest person I removed an impacted wisdom tooth on was 105 year old man originally from France. He did better than most and we only used local anesthetic.

Assuming (I hope anyway) you are a dentist thank you for the work you do. I can't imagine what people went through back in the so called good old days.

I have probably removed 10's of thousands of wisdom teeth and many more other teeth over my career as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. I retired at 58 which was 4 years ago. Time flies! We have definitely improved our techniques over the years, anesthetics are better, sedation is an option, antibiotics and pain medication have improved. Not uncommon for folks to die from a tooth abscess many years ago.
