In your opinion, should AU hire someone like Malzahn, and go back to the spread/fast paced offense, or continue down the path of getting back to the pro-style offense?

Personally, I'm torn...If you're running the same style offense as Bama, LSU, GA, FL, and going after the same recruits, I almost think AU would be better off to be unique and go with a spread attack. And they proved you can win a championship in the SEC with that style 'O'. But on the other hand, I miss the physical, powerful AU teams..especially on the defensive side.

I think they are having a hard time finding a coach to take the job, Cheezit will be back next year.

I think they tried to fire him and he threatened to blow the whistle on them. That's why he was so confident with the recruits that he wasn't going anywhere.

So......it looks like pro style again.

Yep, I think he will be back with a couple of new assistants with Dye and Jacobs still in control.

Another Bammer checking in with the idea that Chiz remains.

This isn't a great year for hiring new coaches, IMO. I'm also not sure Chiz is as bad as his record this year.

They're a young team and CheezIt is part of the Family.

Give it time.

Borges proved that auburn can win in the sec with the pro style offense. malzahn didnt prove anything except cam newton is a heck of a quarterback, and in a couple of games even he was almost not good enough.

You have to give either style time. Recruit the right players and give it time. Personally, a pro style offense would be my preference because I think Alabama can handle it better. A solid spread offense is tough.

Burbank- What offense should AU run and who would you select for HC and OC if you could choose anyone?

What do you think will actually happen?

Seems to me that auburn took a shot at a home run hire and came up empty........then let Phillip Marshall float the idea of the OC at Louisville to see how the public would respond to the idea of hiring an up and coming assistant and that flopped as well.......... Now you start reading articles about how X recruit is committed to Chizik and probably won't honor that commitment if he leaves. Auburn does a better job than anyone of using their media folks to test the waters of how a decision is gonna go over in the public eye.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Chizik retained for another season; I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone either though
This will be an important hire for auburn. If they can't get the right guy it honestly would be better probably to just hang on for a year and see what happens next season.
