Its apparently this Friday in Pell City. If I can make it I intend to.

Many on here disagreed (if not disliked) him for his (heretical) beliefs, but he was a man for standing up for what he believed in. We should send flowers or something to let his family know he'll be missed by others as well.

I'll contribute $20. Maybe some more will chime in as well.

It would be nice to send the money in his name to a charity of something he liked...NRA comes to mind...but flowers would work as well.

I couldn't stand the old fart most of the time. But, he was a good person. Met him several times at the CAB meetings. He would always get up and speak his mind. Have to admire him for that.

I am in for $20 as well.

I like the charity idea. Or if someone knows the family well enough, maybe we could all pool our money and buy one of his grandkids a life time hunting license. If they all don't already have one. I think that would be a great statement from a bunch of hunters!

I'll contribute $20 but I'd say it goes toward a gift to St. Judes or something in his name instead of flowers. Flowers will fade away but I bet a kid or Family at St. Judes would surely appreciate it.

That's a great idea Barry. I'm in for $20 as well. I found the info by googling "Herman Cropp obituary".

I'm off work Friday and plan to attend his service. If you all want to, use my PayPal acct for donations. Please put BigJack and your ALDeer screenname in the memo so I can keep up with everyone who contributes. PayPal acct is ahm@otelco.net I will cover the PayPal fees on this.

Lifetime Hunting License and St. Jude donation are both excellent suggestions. Whatever y'all decide.

Make the payment selection as a 'gift' and there should not be any fees.

I just sent $20.00 to Andrew for Big Jack charity/life license. I don't care which but like the idea of one of his grandkids having a license from Aldeer for the rest of his/her life.

Deerchop, that's a good question and I suspect there are several on here who may be new to PayPal.

Go to www.paypal.com and creat yourself an account.
You will have the opportunity to connect it with your bank account for fund transfers.
Once this is done,

Log onto your PayPal account
Click the Send Money tab
Enter my email address in the To Box ahm@otelco.net
Enter the amount you wish to send in the Amount Box
Click the Personal tab
Click the Gift option
Click the Continue button
A new window will show up
Click in the Message box at the bottom of screen
Enter your ALDeer screenname and BigJack
Click the Send Money button

UPDATE:

I have received donations totaling $205.00 so far. If anyone doesn't have a PayPal account, please PM me the amount you will donate and I will take a personal check in the mail. Since we did not do Toys-for-Tots fundraiser this year, perhaps everyone will take this opportunity to share our respect and friendship for one of our members and fellow outdoorsmen with his family.
