No, I am saying that in areas that people have dog hunted for generations and the vast majority of the land was open permit for nearly 100 years and entire Communities gathered together and had dog drives on each other's properties that there exists the strong likelihood that a dog or dogs may inadvertently cross your property a couple of times a year.

And, therefore, if this is something that you cannot tolerate and you have ZERO ties to the property or area, that you would probably be better served to lease property elsewhere.

Is that hard to understand??

I think that when this is settled, you are going to find that GPS tracking can be admitted as evidence and someone WILL be found guilty of animal cruelty.

I have a question for you.Why cant the dogs hunters just obey the law and keep the dogs on their property? If they did that there would be no issues with anybody. [/quote]

what law are you reffering too?

In our area dog hunting is considered the redneck lazy mans way of hunting.Because the majority of the guys who do it around here quit there jobs during dog season. And dont put forth any effort or money into planting food plots of developing land for deer. They just ride the roads all day find a big track and throw a pack of dogs out on it.Not caring whose land its on.And we are on the permit system but they could care less.

They know who was there, where they were and EXACTLY where the dogs were.

I could find out if I was the Sheriff real quick.......

But, I'm not.

The locals will tell you where I live that they will put their dogs out wherever they choose. I was in a club where dogs were run on our club during the week. There were confrontations and nothing ever changed. Its the dog hunters that give themselves a bad name. Like it or not this isn't the good ol' days. People pay good money to lease property and set it up for still hunting only to have their time in the woods interrupted by dogs running through it. It is lame for anyone to defend dog hunters who refuse to control their dogs.

You are describing illegal activity.
If you KNOW this, why not turn them in??

Are you too lazy to call? Or, just too busy planting food plots and developing your land for the deer??

In our county we are on the permit system. The rule states you must have a permit to run dogs on someones land. But the dog hunters around here pay it no mind

What is illegal about a dog that was turned aloose by legal hunters on their own property running across your property????

It is unfortunate.
But, NOT illegal!

YOU can go to the Court House and issue a warrant yourself IF you actually witness illegal activity.

they have not broke a law . if they turn the dogs loose on legal land and they go ever where still no laws are broke . thing dog hunters do not react right to others when they get away .

that line about , my dogs can't read ,,,, just don't get it .

i've been told that a few times when i returned their dogs and when they fussed about that spivey boy killing their deer i'd say they needed to teach their deer to read or they learn how to shot . lol

Talking about finding a new lease, that's what we did because when we leased our first property in butler/conecuh co.landowner did not inform us about the 3 dog hunting clubs that adjoined our property. We leased in July worked every other weekend till the seasoned opened to get the place in shape. Got up there with the for the opener got kids set up with us in shooting houses and about7:30 that morning we had the first group of dogs come thru and it was like that all weekend and every weekend we were there. Talked to members of dog clubs when they would come get the dogs we would catch and they always had the"we tried to stop them but couldn't and they can't read signs." We put up with it 3 yrs and gave up and moved.

Issue a warrant on who?The dogs?Because you just said the dogs have broke no laws. The dog hunters never step on our land they just let the dogs do the dirty work.

big problem is the standers are to lazy to catch the dogs . we would cut rope and hand it out and some would still never even try to catch my dogs . the dog guy caught it from ever where . why i got rid of mine .

Dog hunters are their own worse enemies.

I had the same problem in another state. They want THEIR way of hunting...but to heck with what the landowners around them want who own their own land..pay their taxes and have the RIGHT to hunt their land the way they want to. THEY OWN IT! If your dogs go on other peoples properties then dont whine and cry when people shoot them!

People pay premium money to purchase their land, they pay the taxes on it every year...and if your dogs just "happen to cross onto it"...because "dogs cant read signs" then dont cry when the owner "gets scared of this pack of dogs" and "defends himself".

You like doing things your way...well so do they. You dont respect their rights as hunters or property owners...well dont expect them to respect your rights as DOG owners.

And it never ceases to amaze me as how they dump dogs on a property illegally but then call the law when someone deals with their dogs.

If you dont have a big enough piece to KEEP your dogs on your own property then you SHOULDNT run the darn things. Its about respect. People wanting it...and not giving it back to others.

Finding out who was there isn't showing guilt. If one person says yeah,I shot it. It was trying to attack me then that's pretty much it. There is nothing to refute it without an eyewitness.

EXACTLY!!!!!

So, why do most of the posters in the thread continue to call them outlaws when many times they have broken no laws.

I know a guy that joined a hunting club right by a papermill and the raised hell all the time about the noise. LOL

I don't dog deer hunt anymore and haven't in years. I am also smart enough NOT to lease land the joins dog hunting clubs and expect to not have them sometimes cross my property.
