Out of town hunters leasing land, killing local hunters dogs is just stupid. I would bet that the still hunters lose their lease and never hunt in that area again. If they try they won't be able to buy enough tire plugs, keep any kind of camp or anything else. They have crapped in their own Cheerios.
About 15 years ago, here in NW Fl, a few still hunters from Pensacola shot some local dog hunters dogs as they crossed a county dirt road, and stayed around too long. The dog hunters came in from both ways, blocked the road and totally beat the hell out every one of the still hunters. No charges issued.

YOU can go to the Court House and issue a warrant yourself IF you actually witness illegal activity.
Issue a warrant on who?The dogs?Because you just said the dogs have broke no laws. The dog hunters never step on our land they just let the dogs do the dirty work. EXACTLY!!!!! So, why do most of the posters in the thread continue to call them outlaws when many times they have broken no laws. I know a guy that joined a hunting club right by a papermill and the raised hell all the time about the noise. LOL I don't dog deer hunt anymore and haven't in years. I am also smart enough NOT to lease land the joins dog hunting clubs and expect to not have them sometimes cross my property. They call them outlaws because they intentionally turn the dogs loose to run on someones elses land. What your trying saying is that the hunters have done nothing wrong because they didnt step foot on the land just the dogs ruined someone elses hunt.Which is wrong.

I am sorry, but someone threatening to shoot dogs for inadvertently running across property does not deserve any 'respect'.
i never figured out where they hurt any thing by running across land i had . i guess some thing has changed ??? long as the dogs never ran the cows and hunting dogs never did ,, i didn't care .

Dog hunters are their own worse enemies.
I had the same problem in another state. They want THEIR way of hunting...but to heck with what the landowners around them want who own their own land..pay their taxes and have the RIGHT to hunt their land the way they want to. THEY OWN IT! If your dogs go on other peoples properties then dont whine and cry when people shoot them!
People pay premium money to purchase their land, they pay the taxes on it every year...and if your dogs just "happen to cross onto it"...because "dogs cant read signs" then dont cry when the owner "gets scared of this pack of dogs" and "defends himself".
You like doing things your way...well so do they. You dont respect their rights as hunters or property owners...well dont expect them to respect your rights as DOG owners.
And it never ceases to amaze me as how they dump dogs on a property illegally but then call the law when someone deals with their dogs.
If you dont have a big enough piece to KEEP your dogs on your own property then you SHOULDNT run the darn things. Its about respect. People wanting it...and not giving it back to others. I have to say you slandering "all dog hunters" makes you look bad as well. Like I stated earlier my family has dog hunted over 60 years and we have never "let our dogs out on ANYONE'S land" besides the land we lease. I know some dog hunters that are bad news, but you shouldn't slander "all dog hunters"
I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

But in geneva county i have yet to see one who does it correctly or cares to do it correctly.

Dog hunters are always to drunk to fight, or to fat and lazy. Im calling BS.

We have had numerous Dog/Deer Hunting debates over the years on here. And many of the claims are that people dump dogs on their land to run the deer back onto theirs......
Do people REALLY think this?
Do they REALLY think people have dogs trained to only hunt on other people's property??? And then, not only exclusively jump deer on that property.....But, also 'herd' them back to hunters waiting on another property????
ReallY???
If people are naïve enough to think that......there is a MUCH bigger danger in AL's woods than a bunch of outlaw hunters!
Yea, it happens....but not like you say. They don't herd. They push. It all has to do with where the dogs are dropped.

Dquailhunter I stated in my post earlier that you cant always stop them but I will say we do EVERYTHING in our power to cut them off. We have several non dog hunting clubs close to us and most of the time they catch our dogs and call us because they know it doesn't happen very often. (and because they killed a decent buck in front of them July and Walker mixed) But the issue is you are in the minority. I grew up dog hunting and still like to hear a good race. The problem is the bad apples out number the good. I will agree with you 100% but I don't like people that slander all dog hunters. But everyone is entitled to their 2 cents!

Yes I see it happens everytime they turn out the dogs beside us.Their full intent is to release them on one side of us let them run through our property while they are standing on the other side waiting to shoot whatever comes across.Be it a buck, doe or fawn. They mow it down.

Sounds like they should have had better control of their dogs. Not condoning the shooting of the dogs, but if you're willing to let your dogs run deer on someone else's property then you best be prepared to deal with the consequences. you still don't shoot the dogs, you confront the owners. that's right !!!! you kill ever deer the dogs are running and tell the dog owners thank you . lol BS...Friend of mine was on his families 2000+ acres...killed a good buck ahead of some dogs...When he got to the main road at his gate, about 10 trucks from another State had it blocked...one of the toothless bastards got out with a stick in one hand and an 1100 in the other and started hitting my buddies fender, saying aint NO, *&^%$#'er gonna shoot a buck ahead of his )(*&^% dogs demanding Buddy give up his deer....Buddy stayed in truck, called SO....about 5 mins later 4 SO cars showed....being as Buddy was Chief Deputy...didn't take long...about half the dentally challenged bunch got to ride in the Crown Vics....every truck was impounded towed and stored at owners expense...Dog hunters had a ancient 12x70 on 3 acres which bordered a NF but they hunted the adjacent properties by running their mutts on their land...No licenses, trespassing on 3 of them, threatening law officer with a deadly weapon ...and about 100 other charges...something shorted out in trailer, only the frame was left...Moral of the Story...BAD dog hunters are gonna ruin it for all dog hunters
