Hogwild, My personal experience is this. I was in a club in Shelby county and we had a club to our east that dog hunted. There was a creek that seperated the two clubs. During the week the dog hunters were seen coming onto our club through a power line and letting their dogs loose on our side of the creek. Again, I gotta ask..... WHY on Earth was the GW not called and the people charged with Trespassing or Hunting Without a Permit IF they were actually seen across the property line? The game warden was called numerous times and I do not know why a ticket was never written.

The pro dog hunting posters are doing a piss poor job of defending dog hunting. "Don't lease land near dog hunters". REALLY. Dude, you gotta come up with something better than that.
Dog Hunting will be gone soon. Just doesn't work with most land being leased by still hunters Absolutely right ^^^^^^ I like dog hunting and can't believe the arguments from the dog advocates. It'll be gone before long, and that's a shame. As someone else said, they are their own worst enemy.

I disagree with that.
There were only a few people on the property. The dogs exact GPS tracks, along with times, is stored on an SD card. It would be pretty easy to narrow down the possibilities.....and, in EVERY experience I have ever had; very little questioning to get one person to tell on another to avoid prosecution! May be your experience. I have investigated several dog shootings/ poisionings. The dogs were where they shouldn't have been in all cases except one and there was no suspects on that one. If anything a GPS will prove the dogs were also where they weren't supposed to be. Some folks know how the rules work and have no problem making a one sentence statement or just flat out ask for a lawyer. That's their right.

How do you the tension was not over the Stalk Hunters hunting over corn, or Night Hunting, or Trespassing??
Also, why is that an excuse to break the Law???
Let's just call it an educated guess. I don't condone shooting the dogs. But, I certainly understand it.

Not saying that shooting them is the "right" thing to do, but it gets frustrating for sure. I drive 7hrs each way to hunt in bama, so having a hunt tainted by dogs runnin around is very annoying.we (as a club) are supposed to bring the dogs in and call the owners and have them come retrieve the dogs. Prob happens 5 times a season, and in most cases, the owners dont come get them for multiple days, and are usually local guys that still continue to let the dogs out on the property line even after repeatedly asking the, to be more responsible with their dogs. I personally think for every responsible dog hunter, theres 10 that arent... just my 2 cents

Why is not just common sense to not lease land that is surrounded by dog hunting clubs if you do not want to hear dogs run? Common sense tells me to keep my ass off land I don't have permission to be on and common sense should tell a man to keep his dogs off land they don't have permission to run on. That's what I get via common sense on this topic.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

OK, so you are saying that the dogs actually have the ability to herd the deer where they want them to go AND they know to head them back to waiting hunters. Has anyone suggested anything even close to this. No one is blaming the dogs. It's the owners that are responsible. I'm no rocket scientist, but I know if I turn my dogs loose on my 320 acre lease, they won't stay on it. That's not a maybe. That's a for sure. I don't give a rats butt if it's legal or not. It's immoral and unethical and it will be the demise of dog hunting in this state.

I am gonna let y'all have it for a while...... I just read where a poor guy's hunt was ruined by his neighbor riding his ragged out 4-wheeler down his own driveway! I am looking into Legislation to prevent such atrocities!!! ![smile smile](/forum/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

It may not be illegal, that doesn't change the scenario as far as if the shooting was justified. At this point one has to go by the only witnesses to the shooting which happen to be the shooter(s).

That is why I don't do it anymore.
