I have lots of coyote dogs run through us during season. Doesn't seem to bother our deer one bit. We still kill plenty of big bucks and does.
A friend hunts public land that and is surrounded by rabbit hunters every weekend. Yet they kill all the deer they want(and some big ones) every year.
I guess these Alabama deer are different. NO its not differnt on my land. I have ran dogs that same day same area and still seen deer.
I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

Hogwild, My personal experience is this. I was in a club in Shelby county and we had a club to our east that dog hunted. There was a creek that seperated the two clubs. During the week the dog hunters were seen coming onto our club through a power line and letting their dogs loose on our side of the creek. Again, I gotta ask..... WHY on Earth was the GW not called and the people charged with Trespassing or Hunting Without a Permit IF they were actually seen across the property line?

You should not have to use ANYTHING to persuade people to enforce the Law. What law was broken? Here the dog owners would be in violation for allowing their dogs to run loose. The Law is Cruelty to Animals. It IS against the Law to shoot the dogs. HERE, in Clarke County, it is NOT against the Law for a dog to cross a property line. It is an inconvenience, but not illegal.

On the first question, you're very naive if you don't think this happens on a regular basis from opening day of gun deer season to January 15th every season.
Your second question is ridiculous, and doesn't really deserve a response.

Have you tried Google?

The law also says you can defend yourself from a dangerous animal. Shame when a dog shows his teeth at you...

why do people want to lease land that adjoins dog deer clubs??? Ummm.......so that when the dogs run the deer onto their land they can kill a deer and a dog? Just guessing.....
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

We had a good laugh at our local seed coop this morning. A large family of rice farmers lease 4000 ac in the achafalya swamp and they were running dogs last week when one dog came running by one of the standers and a doe was chasing the dog. When they got back to camp they started ribbing the owner of the dog. The owner said he trained the dog to get the deer to chase him and he would lead the deer to the hunters. Have y'all ever had deer chase dog?
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

I say it would take a person of very low character to LIE to allow him to break the Law.....not to mention a coward to shoot a dog instead of confront a Man. Personally,I would be mad but couldn't bring myself to shoot a dog. That's just me. But as far as LEOs and their action a dog shooting will be based on what the shooter says. It's not what they believe but can prove. That's what I was getting at with the media and emotion. Some will be mad and accuse the deputies of not doing their job where there is no case to prove.

That shows how little you understand about dog deer hunting.
If dog deer hunting ruins the hunting, why do people want to lease land that adjoins dog deer clubs??? Or, even try to lease the land away form the dog deer club! I understand plenty about dog deer hunting - I have experience on both sides. Are you suggesting that people who hate having dogs ruin their still hunts, purposefully lease land next to dog clubs to increase their chances of killing deer? WOW!!!

Who said anything about lying? Only dog I've ever shot was when I was 15. Walked up on it in Perry Co on my way out from a stand after dark. Got up to maybe 15-ft from it before I saw it and it saw me. It just stared at me. I yelled at it and it didn't budge. Yelled again and raised my 30-06. It showed its teeth and growled. I gave it a flip-top head. Only one I've ever thought that it deserved a dirt nap.

As I already posted (I guess you missed it in your hurry to voice your opinion), IF a hunter cannot tolerate hearing dogs run while he hunts.....he should not lease land, or join a hunting club that adjoins clubs or private land that runs dogs and has for years!

NOR, am I afraid to stand up as a voice of reason to a bunch of ill-informed, narrow-minded, hypocrites. I totally disagree with people intentionally allowing dogs to run on others properties. But, I think it should be properly dealt with.

Nope; I didn't miss that. I just thought it completely illogical. How about the dog club lease enough land to contain their dogs? The story suggested that tensions were rising between these neighbors. Admittedly, I'm reading between the lines, but it sounds like this ain't the first or second time these dogs have bothered the hunters.
